Actually there might be a Rovers connection, anyone know what time The FA Cup Final kicks off? Since the Rovers v Hull Magic game is the same day at 5pm/

5:15, can see it effecting attendances. Bloody gutted got magic tickets but would have loved to have watched the final.

you would think the rfl would look into changing the derby to a sunday so fans could go to both games I think now city are in the final it will put fans off going to magic weekend or just go to pub and watch both games

I doubt the Magic game will be moved to Sunday, people will have already arranged transport and accommodation for the weekend and it would be totally unfair on them, however maybe it could be swapped with one of the earlier kick offs on the Saturday (12:30pm - London/Catalans or 2:45pm - Widnes/Salford). If it was the 12:30pm KO it would give those who wished to go and watch the game in a bar or Manchester City Centre.

How mad would that be if they could stagger the games. Rovers and FC fans at each other during the derby and then both cheering on city in the same bars in Manchester.

For all that Wigan are the holders, Arsenal's tradition does make it more of an occasion. While City would have had a much better shot at getting triangular corner flags against Wigan, a defeat would be very, very deflating against a Championship team.

Historically and ceremonially. It became Teeside, when we became Humberside. Then Cleveland for a bit later on. And it ruined by Arsenal theme.

It's hard to fathom just how MASSIVE Hull city making their first EVER FA cup final is after 110 YEARS.

Some will bladder about 'I don't care' due to them either being fans of other clubs or other sports but they are so missing the point here. It is GREAT news for the city and it will once again have folks from around the world thinking 'Where exactly is Hull?'

Recently this city has had a fair few 'Where is Hull?' moments as opposed to 'Bugger me I'm not going there' moments we are used too. That cannot be anything but positive.

this is their one real chance to win the trophy. I don't think they would ever get a draw as kind as they have had to get to the Final again so they need to make the most of it.
I said on Saturday that if Wigan won, they would beat City, but I actually think City can beat Arsenal as the pressure on them to finally win a trophy would be huge

Even rarer than City reaching the final is me actually agreeing with Anakin. We should all be delighted for them, its bringing even more attention on our great city.

My only issue with City getting to the FA cup final, is the reactions of the fans. Remember in 2008 when they reached the PL? Remember the stick RL supporters in this city got from some of the football supporters?

Like it or not Association football IS the biggest sport in the world and the only truly global sport in that it is played everywhere at some level. The FA cup is the oldest and most traditional of that sport so it's hard to argue against the fact that Hull City getting to it's final is bigger than anything either Hull or Rovers have done on a global sport world stage.

I think you need to look at what I wrote properly before replying. There is no where I have stated anything to the contrary of what you wrote. My gripe is that they should act with a bit more class rather than mouth off because they have finally reached the top division after 100 years of trying.

Abuse along the lines of 'Hope you get battered' 'Relegated next year then back to being rubbish' etc. Plus us RL fans are not know for our virtue on that score either.

Not a football fan or from Hull but yes great for them & their suporters. I supose there will be a few less traveling to the magic game but for once let them have the glory our match will be on next year. As for their crowd figures they do draw a large number of fans from the East riding much more than the rugby clubs do. Not a problem for me though as I am in Egypt on holiday & I am sure city will be on TV there. & the magic game I will record. Good luck to them though.
