I think Smailes is on his way to becoming what Gwillum Lloyd is to Hull fans.
Maybe a bit more comedy and less genuine dislike. If it was a bit more subtle, it'd be worse - as its so obvious, it does no harm. Actually quite funny when he turns the hyperbole up to 11. If intentionally so, then fair play on a GSoH - though making a long-running joke of it can't be that good for a professional reputation.

Hull FC have secured the services of one of Super League's all-time great impact players with the capture of fit again Iafeta Paleaaesina on a two-year deal.
The Samoan hit man, who stands at 6ft 2in and is down to a career best 107kg, has been in the prime of his life after a successful spell in the Elite One Championship in France.
He will now link up with the Black and Whites for the start of pre-season in November and joins fellow new signing Mickey Paea in the front row.
Speaking to www.hullfc.com, the prop said, “I’ve enjoyed my time in France but now I am ready to come back to Super league and I’m grateful to Hull for giving me that opportunity to play for a massive club with such terrific support.
“I’ve kept myself in good condition over the summer and as soon as pre-season gets under way, I’ll be there doing my best to impress. I’ll be doing everything I can to do well for the club and I can’t say enough about how excited I am to play for Hull.
“I’ve played at the KC Stadium many times before, it’s a terrific place to play and will be even better as a Hull player. Thinking about that already has me pumped up and I wish the season was starting now because I cannot wait to get going.
“We have a good squad and Mickey Paea coming in is a very good signing too but for me Danny Houghton is the key. I’m a massive fan of Danny’s and I’ve watched this season as he’s ripped it up for Hull.
“It will be great to play alongside him in the front row and I’ll take my guidance in matches from him. Hopefully we can form a great partnership to take the team forward.”
Helping his current side Limoux to the Lord Derby Cup Final, the former Wigan man has quickly attracted the attention of a host of clubs on both sides of the world after strong reviews on the continent.
However, keen to bolster their front line with some size and punch, the Black and Whites have swooped to land Paleaaesina in what could potentially be the signing of 2014.

Weyman and Costigan are two players that are certainly better than what we have let go for starters.
Not seen enough of Keating to make a proper judgement but if Andrew Johns rates him highly that will do for me. I will certainly take his opinion over yours any day of the week, all in all i would say our recruitment has been pretty good so far with two or three more still to come.
Hulls recruitment on the other hand has been abysmal so far imo.
I wonder if Radders is planning another trip to sunny France to see what else he can pick up from the illustrious French division. |

Why is it it bye bye KR's play off chances.?
Although our attack was very good last season, especially when we had a full team on the park, our defence was where we often came up short.
Many of the players we have signed for next season are more renowned for their defence as well as their go forward, Keating included, so that should make us a much more balanced side.
My only concern at the moment is the organisational skills of which Keating is reportedly lacking in, however if these concerns can be addressed by Sandy and the coaching staff, then Keating may well turn out to be a better all round player than Dobbo imo. |
