I've only seen him play a few times.
He's not a big guy, but he plays well above his weight.
He is a genuine utility player who gives 100% and reads the play well.
He has a knack of being in the right place to score tries. Penrith have been very good at scoring off set plays and kicks and Burns has been a big part of that.

He's a bit of a hothead who gets suspended a lot, but the flipside of that is he plays with a lot of passion.

He plays hooker at a good standard.

He plays 5/8 at a good standard.

He goes OK at lock.

He can play second row at a pinch.

He's just been hit with a 9 match suspension which brings an end to his NRL season. At least 4 games will carry forward into next season.

Add that 9 to a 3 for the chicken wing.

if he came over here (to play for any SL club) would the ban carry?

Probably not as Monaghan at Wire wasn't allowed to play in the NRL for 1 year but got a contract over here to play.

Slightly different scenario. Dont think Monaghan was banned as such, just couldnt be registered in the NRL.

I think that any ban in Australia would be carried over to the UK. Certainly was when Rovers efforts to sign Les Boyd were scuppered.

Penrith have been terrible, and i think it's because they play as a bunch of individuals and not as a team - too many of them trying to be the 'star' - and Burns has been one of the guys doing that IMO.
He has plenty of skills and plenty of guts, but he needs a coach who can get him playing for the team.

Apparently he has a history with the disciplinary committee,However having seen the high shot 9 matches is very harsh.

As an impartial observer (Batley fan), I'd say that he'd offer absolutely nothing in terms of improving your team. Seen him play on many, many occasions and he's the definition of 'mediocre journeyman'. When will SL clubs learn that, just because a player has turned out for a number of NRL teams and made plenty of appearances in that competition, it doesn't mean he's a great player? Hopefully you won't waste any cash on him.

It seems to be gathering momentum but I ask this, do we want all of this controversy? Wasn't the Mason affair sufficient to say steer well clear?

The thought of losing any of our current overseas players for TB almost makes me shudder!

Green isn't playing as well as he shud at the mo I really do think that's the blood clot he had in his leg it must make a player more wary about will it happen again, green has had sum real bad luck with injuries this season but hopefully he can put this season behind him and crack on for next season, I can't comment on this travis burns as never seen him play, have you Sheldon.

Yep, he's a good player.

He'd fit into hkr's side quite well at 13.

Would he we haven't got the space on quota tho I can't see it happening and I don't really want it to but ultimately it's up to sandercock

If I'm to be a pedant then we have space on the quota but not on the non-fed list.
