Was amazed how well he slotted back into the full-back role, looked like he'd never been away from it.

Never plays with anything other than passion. He may have grown up a Cas fan but he is the first to say he is now a Rovers fan 100% through and through.

Been played all over the park in the last few years and spent most of this season playing in the forwards. Played a belter yesterday and fully deserved MOTM.

Such was the atmosphere yesterday though that I couldn't actually hear his name been announced as MOM to be honest.

Hard to disagree. Briscoe has been a great ambassador for this club but Cockayne is a better all round athlete in terms of speed and strength and now I think he realises this is a golden chance for him to keep the shirt even when Briscoe is fit and this time I don't think he's going to let that opportunity pass.

His kick returns are superb and help get the team on the front foot at the start of sets which our forwards can then capitalise on which is a key area where I feel Briscoe isn't consistent enough.

It's ironic that the things us Rovers fans used to say to the FC fans regarding the Cockayne vs Briscoe debate back in our first SL season in 2007 are actually now coming to the fore...

I can see Cockayne getting the number one shirt next year with Louis Sheriff as back-up if Cockayne's form doesn't drop.

Never EVER doubted the lad, gives 100% every week, gets under the skins of the opposition whoever they are and as said above has red and white blood in his veins, would sign his career away for Rovers, Let's get his contract sorted, 3 years minimum!

The thing with Cockayne is he offers a far greater attacking threat then Briscoe and you really saw that come across yesterday. To be honest I would rather him be our regular Fullback, his versalitility has probably been his downfall in the respect of Morgan being able to use him to fill into a variety of roles rather then be settled in just one position.

Disagree with the Rovers thru and thru comment to be honest - yes he loves it here and we love him, but he still doesnt live here and IMO hes a Normanton Lad thru and thru hence why he still lives there; he isnt going to say he dislikes it here even if he did is he!
