| The Englishman from Hull Kingston Rovers, Joshua Hodgson had an outstanding game for Canberra, as the Raiders beat Manly 29-16 at Albury. He made many darting runs from dummy half, at least one try assist for five eighth Blake Austin, and even kicked a 40-20. I am sure that the highly strung Canberra coach Richard Stuart was ecstatic.
Hodgson was replaced only after 63 minutes, but his replacement Glen Buttriss was awful, and Hodgson had to be brought back on for the last few minutes.
I am sorry to report that Dane Tilse did not have much of an impact, though he didn't make any mistakes. But he was well overshadowed by Hodgson.
Another former Rover (briefly), big William Mason, made a couple of good runs for Manly, but was not a big influence. At the end of the game Mason and Hodgson were seen chatting together.
