Guessing it is a 1.6 petrol . Keep it . Get a solid flywheel conversion and do away with the DMF . All cars fitted with DMFs feel like the clutch is slipping even from new . Future clutch replacements will be sooooo much cheaper .
One question . Why does the clutch need replacing on a car that age ? driver error ?
My 15 yr old Citroen is still on it's original clutch . Used correctly they should last forever (ish )
My 57 plate Zafira clutch felt horrible for the whole three years I had the car . It never went wrong though .
Now have a Nissan NV200 . If you are thinking of getting a new car I would highly recommend one . Awesome piece of kit for the money if you are in the market for a people carrier .
Oooops .If the previous post suggests I currently own more than one car it is because I do . Seven at the last count , and have never had to get my hands dirty fitting a clutch to one of them .... yet .
Nearly always driver error when a conventional clutch needs replacing . Bearings wear out because you don't do neutral at junctions . Plate wears out because you acelerate too hard and release the pedal too slowly (especially between gear changes ). Cables break because you stop at junctions and hold the pedal down , or sometimes just because your car is French (or a Metro with a bad earthing problem) .Cover springs wear through because of the above driver faults .
The list is endless . All are driver faults .
