I think that's as a result of spending more and more time locally ... Switched to the Bay Horse after the demise of the Drum and whilst they have a real ale they tend to stick to the same one (Doom Bar) where the Drum were at least rotating theirs.

I'll still contribute when I come across something or somewhere worth reporting.

For all you discerning real ale fans I would ask you to try and give some of your patronage to Doncaster Brewery and their new premises on Young Street in the Town Centre . It’s not yet the finished article but the beer is very good. The couple who are running it have put their heart and soul into their business and it deserves to be a success. Opening times are Friday 3 -9pm and Saturday 12 noon – 9pm. Sampled most and boy does he keep a good pint. Especially the Town Fields brew at 7%, its gorgeous.

Revolutions Brewing Company Clash London Porter 4.5% at the Flying Duck in Ilkley. All their brews are music related & strengths are 3.3, 4.5 & 7.8% in homage to the analogue age. A cracking beer too. Brewed in Castleford.

A big up also to Stringers IPA 5.5% in bottles which I had the pleasure of sampling at home.

Celebratory drinks after a 4-0 local derby victory

had a trip with 3 workmates to the west midlands on Thursday,got the train from sheff,change Birmingham new street to Wolverhampton.then bought a west mids group/family bus ticket £8 bargin!.caught the no 1 bus near the station to sedgley

bulls head,holdens bitter.we also shared a half of holdens old ale at 7.2% it was only lunchtime and the 1st pub!!
beacon hotel,sara hughes amber pale,dark ruby mild.
then back on the bus to Dudley

lamp tavern,bathams best bitter(one of my all time favourite beers).
then on the bus to netherton

olde swan,ma pardoes olde swan.also tried the home made scotch eggs superb!.back on the bus back towards Wolverhampton as far as upper gornall,

the Britannia,bathams mild and bitter.then back into Wolverhampton to the moon under water.
Ringwood,boon doggle,
then train back to sheff for a cheeky last one in the tap,
had a great day,fab beers and cracking pubs.
