| What happened with Cookey? I saw him having an altercation with, what I assumed was, a Barrow official on the touchline when he left the field limping - giving said person a push. I obviously missed something with talk of sendings-off. The only thing I saw was Cookey being called out of the line by the ref before Kyle's yellow card. Can someone enlighten me, please? Thanks. Having said that, I did miss the kick-off so.......

| for the first time in a while I did not enjoy myself today until the end when we got the shield and here is why:
First few seconds deliberate foul play to take Cookie out and shud have been sent off, The officials were useless gave bewildering decisions for both sides I will add, Why Kesik was sin binned is still a mystery but the main fact is Barrow achieved their main objective and we were clueless at times without the direction of Cookie,
Cnt go next week as I am working but will be their when we get our revenge on Barrow in Warrington COYD DONNYTILIDIE

| Cooke was targetted which should have been sending off...and we should have also be cleverer in protecting him.
Nothing much in teams today
Ref was a donkey and completely ruined what could and should have been a great game.
Agree Lee needs to chill as when wound up it affects his performance. Changing top at kick off cost us.
I worry that Robbo and Carbutt (and I do like both players) are not big enough for league above.
Why did Edwards not play - I often think I am only one that rates him? Stiffens tackling up immensly and offers options in the centre for overlap and release of ball.
Wingers try really hard but made bad errors today - Hodson really is a better player.
Had we kicked more goals the game was ours - considering star player was on bench and 10mins with man down, whilst I'm p*ssed off with result, as I think we are just making harder on selves - I dont think it was our day.
Will need Cooke, massive improvements and bigger lads up front Lawton, Edwards have to play - losing Deano for whatever reason showed today.
Hughes may also be better used as impact player.
As always IMO but I thought it took edge off getting the shield to be honest. No excuses no bull in press and overhyping - I dont care if only 5 people watch next week as long as we win....
People need to see us make that final.....

| Barrows game plan all hinged on the first 5 seconds. Take cooke out of the game then see how the next 79 minutes go.
As soon as he left the field you can see what effect he has on the team.Yes he is our best player but it was plain to see that he is also the main organiser and talker as this all went to pot when he went off.
The other main thing for me was that Waterman should have been interchanged after the kick off debacle. Too busy blowing kisses to the opposition fans after a missed kick and losing concentration and letting the KO go dead. He has to sort out his discipline as it affects the team I think. He winds himself up and lets it affect his game. Hes a good player its just little things like this that lets him down sometimes.Calm down a bit Lee!
Lets hope we can win next week , learn from today and then get our own back in 2 weeks.

| We need to put out our best side next week.
The side today was NOT our best side.
Tom Hodson has to start on the left wing with Sando or China on the right.
Waterman has to go back to left centre and Butters has to be fullback.
We're playing at silly buggers.

I don't think he'll be playing, going from what he's just put on Twitter.

| Grant Edwards will have to come back into the side now because of his versatility. I would put him on the bench. Move Kesik to Stand-off (as after Cooke went off I thought he was our most creative player), start with Emmet at hooker, and Powley on the bench.
Also hope that Castles deadleg clears up too.
Was this a game of over-confidence?

| I think it's a bit disappointing that we couldn't take the chance to have a go at goal with the penalty very late on to make it 22-22.
Now that's either silly turning down the chance or having no confidence in the kicker, which after his last two attempts would have been hardly surprising.
My view is and probably always will be in cases like this ...'get level first and worry about winning later'.
There was a famous case with Sinfield and a declined kick at goal a few years ago in the cup which saw Leeds famously cock-up and lose.
A bit like we did really.
Barrow would have had a go I am sure if it had been their penalty.

| Yes, that was a mystery to me too.Had Cookey been on the field at that point he would definitely have gone for the two points. Having said that, we made one or two silly errors in what was overall a competent performance. We just lacked that all-important spark of originality to open up defences. Any team's going to miss Cookey from their line-up and if he was targeted, then shame on Barrow for stooping so low. We lost by two playing below par. It happens. We're just not used to losing that often this year.

Had Paul Cooke been on the field at that point, I doubt we'd have been behind.

| Even the Rugby leaguer match reporter only gave the ref 27 out of 100.
It was the worst standard of officiating that i can remember this season, and someone needs to learn to count to 6, he only realised after a word in his ear.
I told him in a very polite way on my way out of the club that he has had a very very bad and dismal day at the office.
Stuart Cummins needs to come and watch some of the pathetic standards of officiating that we have to endure in the Championship, he needs to come without the refs knowing. Most of the linesmen just run up and line and do nothing even when its a blatant foul(easy money).
And they wonder why everyone thinks the RFL are a joke.
This was a decent game but suffered by the poor standard of officials.

| I seem to remember the crowd getting on the back of one of the touch judges for missing a Barow indiscretion and then waving his flag for the one and only time which resulted in a penalty against us.
I thought at the time that he was simply his way of getting his own back on those giving him some verbals (not that he didn't deserve it of course).

Or to put it another way 'the wheels fell off our van yesterday, but it doesn't matter we can celebrate all the times the wheels have stayed on'.
Sorry that was silly.
We [size=150are[/size behind the lads, the evidence for that being that we go to matches.
BUT, what do you want out of this forum?
What do you think it is for?
What would you like, a set of sycophants?
That wouldn't make for an interesting forum would it?
And no opinions would equal one boring wasteland of a forum.
Just a thought.

| Embassy - I'm not sure what room your'e sat in affects the comments.
We are all more than capable of writing rubbish from any one of many rooms in our houses, that is the beauty of wireless.
To insinuate that 'dross' can only be written in a 'small dark room in corner of the house' is ridiculous, I have posted from as far away as COSTA in Meadowhall....

Was it the same TJ who stopped the ref from awarding a try to us late on when the ref and other TJ seemed to see no problem.Mind he was I front of the Barrow contingent.
Without doubt had Paul remained on we would have won. However well done to the lads for regrouping and and only losing out on goal kicks.

Yeah, I had forgotten about that.
The ref came across to the chuckle brother TJ right in front of where we were sitting.
I am pretty sure that the chuckle brother TJ didn't have a clue and yet a try was turned down on that brief conversation.
I should imagine it went a bit like this ....
Ref ... ''Well Mr Chuckle Brother TJ, I was standing right next to where the guy might have touched down, but I was scratching my @rse at the time and not doing my job properly.
So the reason I have raced across to you is that I was not close enough to see and yet you were a good twenty yards further away and I am hoping that you were paying attention, like I should have been. Basically help me out here because I am just going through the motions.''
Chuckle Brother .... ''I saw nowt, so I am not sure if he touched down or not.''
Ref ... ''So we are agreed then, we saw nowt?''
Chuckle Brother TJ ... ''Yes!''
Ref ... ''Right then, no try?''
Chuckle Brother TJ ... ''Yes boss!''
'Benefit of the doubt' Championship 1 style in action.
Pathetic!
