Very true.

I think we were a bit leggy in the first half, perhaps we were still feeling the aftereffects of last weeks defeat. The second half we were more professional, and it told, but there are still things that need looking at. The next few weeks of 'break' should see us allow a few injuries to recover, and come back refreshed.

I am away from my computer and am using a smartphone so I will be brief. I am chuffed to meatballs with that result. We are as good as promoted barring a bad case of complacency or injuries.

Good atmosphere at the racecourse ground on a very hot day-the two sides looked evenly matched in the first half as the score line suggested-but the Dons improved their performance all-round in the second-half and fully deserved the win.

Mathematically speaking:

We need to win 6 our last 8 games, and that is assuming Oldham win all 9 of theirs. In the case we would be tied on points (give or take bonus points/points difference).

6 wins and a bonus point for us, seals the deal.

Put it another way, Oldham need to win 3 more games than us over the second half of the season

As already mentioned on other posts, not much between the teams in the first half. Dropped balls and penalties were the order of the first half. Second half the guys came out and played more open flowing rugby and this showed by the result. I had to laugh because i shouted for the drop goal a few minutes from time and Supporters bus MOTM Fawcett calmly slotted over the drop goal to snatch the bonus point of them.

The way in which they set up for the drop was impressive as well, they seemed to get all of the big men either side of Powley, and his pass to Fawcett gave him more than enough time to hit it.

Is there anyone on here who over-hypes the team and how the heck would that have any bearing on how they play anyway? The simply fact of the matter is that teams like Oldham and Rochdale have too much to do to overtake the Dons.
We have Gateshead at home next....sorted.
Then soon we have Barrow and Workington at home and we want to stuff them , and will.
We could well lose at Oldham and Whitehaven. But it won't matter.
We will be promoted, or I will show my booty at half time in the first play-off game.

In my opinion, NWC put up a pretty solid performance, but we turned up the pace a little in the second half. We appeared to be a bit leggy in the first half, now I'm not sure whether that is as a result of the Workington match, or whether the trip across had an effect.

There were some strange decisions going both ways, but to be honest, the decision in the build up to Kellys try was the one that annoyed the Crusaders the most. From the view that the majority of the fans had (and the touchjudge on that side as well) it would appear that Tom Hodson knocked on, but I feel that the ball was knocked into him initially by the Crusaders player jumping for the ball, and as a result, the ball hit Tom (even though he was jumping for the ball), and then landed in goal.

As for the claim we knocked on in the build up to the drop goal, I never saw it...

Perhaps some of the Crusader fans should have took any issues up with Jamie direct.....always was a balanced individual..

RE: Kellys Try.

The TJ on the Mold Road side signalled the ref using his flag to indicate a knock on, he was about 5 yards away. Ref consulted him, TJ says " I think the Doncaster player knocked it forward. Ref (25 yards away at the time) overrules him and awards a try.

Thats why we Cru fans were up in arms.

I am not saying you didn't deserve your win, but I think overall we deserved at least a bonus point.

By the way, thanks to the Doncaster fans who made the journey - you are a friendly and knowledgable set of fans. I have you down as one of my top 4 to be promoted - so thats probably the kiss of death!! Enjoy your rugby league and we will see you at the Keepmoat.

The TJ did have probably the best view out of him and Mr Bloem, but if the ref felt that it was a Crusaders hand that knocked it down, theres nothing he can do. I hope you can take points away from Workington and Barrow, as if your performances continue like they have been, then you'll get there.
