A quality player no doubt, but we are told we have excellent team spirit at the moment, it would be ok as long as there is no rocking of the boat.
However this is all still speculation.

PC is a player in the Holroyd mold, so he would be good at moving us around the park. We need a general.
He's 30 years old now.
I thought last time I saw him play however that his best rugby days were well behind him. He had gotten rather slow.

I think he's about 31. Probably could do a decent job outside of SL.

If it is Cooke and he is in any kind of game shape don't expect any loyalty from him. Last time I saw him was going to a Hull game this year and he looked even bigger than he was at Wakey so he would have need to put in some serious training since then.

And if it is Cooke and he looks like a house side (if he does), then the deal will fall through naturally, because people won't want to put money in.
So we move on somewhere else.

If Cooke is in shape then fine, but anecdotal evidence and the fact that he has been out of the game for a year suggests he won't be.

So just like DM I hope it's someone else for that reason only. But you seem to think it is Cooke.

Still you can carry on throwing one-liners in that don't really contribute to the debate if you like.
After all we will be the ones asked to stump up the dosh, and I think that this gives us a reason to have a view and speculate on our preferences.
So if you are implying that we are somehow prejudicing and putting at risk the possible outcome, that would be a shame.

Don't get me wrong an in shape and in form Cooke would be brilliant for you but his conditioning and mind have been on the slide for a while, maybe the break will have done him good. I like Donny and the worry is you pay him to get in shape then at the first chance he gets he ups and leaves you.

If we're going to invest heavily in one player we need that investment to be relatively risk free.

I'd prefer to see four boxes ticked:

1) Played Super League up to the end of last season
2) Has no fitness worries
3) Still has the same hunger to succeed
4) Has been a loyal servant to previous clubs suggesting the same would apply now.
