Thanks Dons89. Keeping people informed helps keep people happy. It might be helpful if we could make public our 19 man squad on a Friday. like most other teams. This in itself will help create more interest in readiness for the games.

Agreed, the strongest team should start.
He does make a great impact player off the bench, but assuming his fitness level allows for 80 mins, he should play from the off.
Anything else is a waste of his talent ... plus he would get fitter faster.
It's a no-brainer.

He won't be as fit as he was as i don't think he's played a full game for 2 seasons.
as you say playing longer makes you fitter. I also agree with you S-O, a waste of his talent.

But isn't that also something for a player to aim to do outside of the club? If he isn't fit enough to do 80, then why should he play the full 80?

Play him from the start ... then if he flags, take him off.
If he flags, tell him to get fitter, tell him he is a key player.
If he's not prepared to do that ... he's a Mark Castle and will be offloaded.
But I think he would do it.

Waterman is a try machine who would run through a brick wall, like Leafy would.
So has to be lined up 15 metres out as much as possible.

I do think he has problem ankle though.

With regards the team dons89 has posted earlier there are 5 players from Hull included. I am sure you can have 5 players on loan/dual reg but with a max of 4 dualreg, so if the team is correct is one of the players on loan.

I'm no coaching expert but coaches probably feel the game opens up as it progresses. In the early stages it is more forward muscle and less about the pace of the backs, but as time passes, speed and mobility becomes more important.

Lee has speed and mobility as well as strength. By bringing him off the bench, he is probably more able to exploit some tired legs making his speed count for more than it may do in the first 20 minutes.

Just a thought...



I've no doubt that Lee would give 100% regardless of when or for how long he played. He's that type of player.

Apart from Feka, we had next to no forward power.
We were outbossed in the forwards and that was the only difference today.
Fev had nobody special ...
That was a game we could have won, but didn't.

We have not won in at least our last eight games.
If it wasn't for the Hull lads we'd be shiite.
Too many lightweights for me.
Which in no way is meant to imply the lads aren't doing all they can.
Just lacking enough class and size.

good effort from the lads today. i do agree with S/O about the forward power but i was pleased with the defence today a massive improvement on last week. Confident about Workington next week that we can get a result

Watched 25 mins of Eagles vs London.
Both sides better than the Dons ... Eagles looked proper professional and class.
London are nothing special and won't worry Leigh or Bradford.
Wish we were better.

It's a pity we didn't score more points when we had the majority of the field position in the first half.

In the second half, the Featherstone forwards got on top more. Rankin kicked very well for us in the first half. Paul Sykes kicked well for Fev in the second half.

Make no mistake this is a tough competitive league with a much higher standard than last season. Without the help of the Hull guys, I do fear for where we'd finish if relying on our own resources.

Everyone tried hard and gave their best. Good effort lads.

I hope that the paper work was done properly with regards to us having five players from Hull. Technically we can only have four DR players. The other must be a loan player.

Well now the Eagles have played at the Keepmoat we should start to see some investment in the squad rather than relying on DR and Youth....that's of course if any of the money is coming directly to the Dons or is it going to Club Doncaster......the coming weeks will tell..on the results thus far I do worry we are going to struggle with the current squad
