| Nobody from Ch1 or even the Championship can match that Toronto figure, Hull KR should be ok but I guess even they have not got that sort of money. We have what we have and are fortunate IMO to have the Club Doncaster wrap around. It may not suit everyone and the figures can be argued about (for the ones in the know) that they are 'challenging' enough. This 2017 squad will not have been cheap to put together I'm pretty sure of that.
Anyway it will all be ok when we turn the two favourites over at home.

Dough actually.
Toronto are going to buy their way out of this division and have created a business structure that will allow them to fund up to 1.85 million pounds of salary.

If only our owners had a few hundred million between them! oh wait....

| The rule is 'the salary cap is the lower of £1.85M or 50% of turnover ... whichever is the lower figure.
IIRC
So in our case 50% of turnover ...
Which is .... ?
It is not sufficient to have a rich bloke or blokes, you have to maximise turnover to £3.7M to be able to pay out £1.85M.
So a little club with a rich sugar daddy is shafted.
What is the Dons' turnover?
What is it Geoff?

If I, as a rich owner of a club, were to sponsor the team shirts to the tune of £3.7M there's your turn over

OK ... good idea!
I accept your kind offer.
But we would need a replacement for when you back out.
Do you know of such a patron?
I am tipping they may be rare.
So I am thinking that most small clubs are still fooked.

I agree that most small clubs are doomed to fail, just saying that's how the trick to get round the turnover/percentage rule

| Eagerly waiting to see who is in our 19.
Some important choices this week at 1,6,7,9 &13.
I may be in the minority but I like LS at full back , a solid dependable player !

I might be in the same minority then!
Louis Sheriff would run through a brick wall for the team. He reminds me a little bit of Ben Cockayne but probably has better discipline!
I hope we get some news about Mason Tonks, Corey Hanson, and Michael Worrincy.

| I keep forgetting about Worrincy.
He must be nearing getting a place.
Unless he has changed his mind and stayed in London.
That is definitely a question for in the dugout.
Where is he?
Someone will now come on and tell me he has been pitchside and I never noticed.
I am not advocating changing a winning side, but I thought he might be a cut above some of the others.

| MW looked like he had not had a pre season , agree he could be/could have been a good signing .
A B-J doesn't get a mention either , we were down to the bare bones in the backs v Gloucester but still not in the 19 .

| Not entirely happy Jemmo , no LS but pleased about MT.
Can we read into the fact we have a half back on loan that Howden may be out for a while.
S-O should be pleased about a couple of the omissions .

Well, for me he has stuck Carr in for his goal kicking.
I think that Sheriff epitomises Donny with his grit and determination, so I would not leave him out, particularly since he stood out versus Gloucester.
So unless he is injured, that is a blunder.
The fact is injuries aside, now is NOT the time to fanny about with the side. Hunslet are the most serious challenge in this league thus far.
Got to agree that bringing in a D/R halfback can only be forced by Howden not being right.
I told you so springs to mind. We are in bother without settled halfbacks.
Playing an injured Howden was, and is, CRACKERS!
Never mind, we still ought to have enough to sort out Hunslet.
But p/ss up in a brewery springs to mind.

This seems like a serious mistake by the bookies. Dons -8 10/11 seems like a very good bet indeed.
I'd be giving Hunslet at least a 16 point start if I was pricing the game up at 10/11.

| No complaints from me about leaving a prop out of the squad cannot play them all even though GT has tried !
I would go with
Carr , Doherty, Welham , Tali, Barnett, Miller, Cross , Castle, Kesik, Scott, Martin, England ,Thackray reps Feka, Spiers, Tonks & Wright
That would mean leaving out Wray & Zac .
I think GT may well go for Wray instead of Miller or Wright .

Wray is only a baby ... that is a fair old gamble.
We can't risk an untried pairing from the start surely?
I think that halfbacks should play for 80 mins.
That is Miller and Cross.
I would give him a go only if things are going tits up or we are well up.
This is not the game for fannying about, unless the kid is brilliant!
