I am pretty sure that if we don't take our 'A game' on to the park on Sunday that we will lose.

There were plenty of worrying signs against Gateshead, but that could have been complacency.

One of the things I heard mentioned during the Gateshead game (mainly aimed at Mark Castle) was for the players not to get too carried away, as they didn't want to lose anyone for the more important game next Sunday. I think they're more than up for it.

probably human nature to expect an easy game after you have beaten them pretty easily on their own patch already, so may have been a tad complacent. Rochdale will be looking to bounce back, so its going to be a tough game. Get back to the defence shown in the games before Bradford and we have the quality in the backs to cause some damage. I will guess at a Dons win by 10.

Could do with at least Mike Emmett being fit for Sunday . We have to start winning away from home against our top 4 rivals.

i tend to agree with the complacency factor.on sunday we looked well below par.but we still scored 40 and to be fair we never looked in any danger. this sunday will be totally different.the players know how good they are.roll on sunday coyd

They have to be professional for this one that is for sure. Bonus point at least please. Sad to missing the next two games, always like the trip to Rochdale and the pre match pint.

If we are serious about a top four finish Rochdale are one of the teams we really need to beat. It could go either way this one but i believe we have the ability to do a job on them.

i dont think the heavy underfoot conditions at rochdale will suit our expansive style of play, think it will be a close game and we shall just edge it.

I tend to agree olddon, i was more confident before the heavens opened. Hopefully it will dry up a bit.

That would throw a spanner in the works if it was called off. when would rochdale fit it in then. wouldnt be a bad thing for the Dons though.

At the moment, its not raining in Rochdale, so if it stays fairly grey, without too much more rain, I can't see there being a problem.

I don't have access to the internet at home. Is there a number to ring to confirm if the game is on or not on Sunday morning should the rain continue?

Match Preview

Doncaster Rugby League Club face Rochdale Hornets this Sunday afternoon in the re-arranged league fixture at Spotland Stadium - the game has a 3pm kick-off. 

Tomorrow's Co-operative Championship One clash is the first of two successive meetings between Rochdale and Doncaster, who also face each other at the Keepmoat Stadium next Sunday (3pm kick-off).

Head coach Tony Miller has brought in Wakefield centre Danny Cowling on a dual registration to strengthen his back line but skipper Craig Robinson (knee) and Mike Emmett (knee) are both missing for the Dons, who are aiming for their fifth win in their first six league fixtures this year.

The influential Paul Cooke has had no reaction from his Achilles problem after last weekend's game at Gateshead and had an injection at training on Wednesday night.  

Miller said: "We've got Rochdale again next week at the Keepmoat so it's important we apply ourselves well on Sunday at their place.

"The Hornets will prove to be tough opposition and have a good record at Spotland so we'll need to be on the top of our game to get the victory.

"We've made a good start to the league season and I've been pleased with our attacking play but we need to maintain our form to stay at the right end of the table."

Gary Middlehurst (suspended) and Steve Roper are definitely ruled out for Rochdale, while Wayne English is struggling after suffering injuries to both ankles.

Hornets' head coach John Stankevitch has further doubts over Adam Bowman and Jonny Leather, whose partners are both due to give birth this week, but Dane Donoghue and Stephen Bannister will definitely feature.

Stankevitch said: "There's a three point gap between ourselves and the top four, but the table doesn't worry me as it looks right now.

"Doncaster have got some pretty good players. Lee Waterman is a proven try-scorer, Tom Hodson has scored some points and Paul Cooke is a good influence on what they're doing.

"However, we've got fantastic home form and if we win on Sunday it gives us a lot of momentum for the following week."
