END OF TERM REPORT.

At the beginning of the season our main objective was to still have a team to support and stay in the black and if we won a game it would be a bonus!
Well how have we faired? There have certainly been some ups and downs as usual. It didn’t look too bright after a 60-0 midweek thrashing by Barrow closely followed by a paltry 192 attendance against Blackpool, and could it have got any worse than the Siddal match? On the up side though I really enjoyed turning over York (always do) and see the team develop as the weeks have gone by has been enjoyable. I believe if we had begun the season with the team that we have ended it with we would have definately finished in the top six.

Any thoughts?

I'd like to think that we're in a better position as a club than we were at the start of the season, we've had some disappointments, but at the same time, some excellent results. Yesterdays result showed how far we have come as a team, as for long periods, it was a team effort, whereas, before, we've just had a group of individuals.

Even if we attract another 75-100 people off the back of yesterdays great marketing result, then its a great foothold for a club which we all thought had gone at the end of last season.

Thanks must go to John, Carl, Tony and the rest of the guys behind the scenes who have made this season a success.

I'd like to add my thanks. This season has indeed been a roller coaster but i think there have been more ups than downs. How nice is it to have a board who don't make any false promises and actually deliver what they promised. I have really enjoyed this season and am looking forward to next year already. With the solid foundations from this year firmly laid we can hopefully look forward to making a little more progress next season. I also believe that if the club keep being pro-active and persevere the Donny public can be stirred a little and a steady increase in the crowds will be seen.

Well done to Carl, the board, Tony and his team and all the other hard working people at the Dons for what has been a refreshing season.

Yes ... the team got it together after a shaky start and have turned into a side well worth watching.
I don't think we should be too conservative in our ambitions, we need to think top four rather than top six, but I am happy with what the management have achieved in a such a short time, without risking things too much.

Carry on with the good work and keep the attacking ethos we saw yesterday and the crowds will increase.
