Can't see Penny being recalled. Riley was rested last night & King had a tight hamstring - both will play next week. Carney was always an experience signing to help Riley & Penny with his experience.

Impossible. It is a well known fact in Warrington that he can't defend.

Nope, he's been very very good in defence. Must be the pride he feels for wearing the black and white.

With the game being slower at this level it's helped him understand a wingers defensive role more than he would in the 100mph super league.

Like Dave said though Penny is black and white now.

For now. Damned decent of widnes to iron out the deficincies in his game before returning the improved version back to Warrington.

- If you're trying to say that Kevin Sinfield kicked a last second goal to beat us in a SuperLeague game, then, well done, I noticed that too. You'd give your left nut to be beaten in a SuperLeague game, or even see widnes play in one I suspect.

- If you're referring to the silly 'Sinfield to Wolves' rumours then I think that is as big a pile of crap as you do.

Either way, it's irrelevant to this thread. I'm pleased Penny (and Cull for that matter) are doing well and, in particular, that Penny may well come back a much better player.

In fairness I think Kev is really enjoying his rugby atm, his enthusiasm and work ethic is great. And he is scoring along the way, hopefully we'll have him for the rest of 2009, and who knows, he may be able to pick up his second winners medal in pro rl. That's be awesome. Bit lightweight and sometimes his defense is 'dubious' but he is working really hard to put that right, I have been nothing other than really impressed with him. Seems to appreciate the supporters too, apparently the boo boys gave him a bit of flack at W**e. TBH I can't see KP being here next season as I doubt we'd meet his wage demands, but really hope his time at Widnes helps develop him for the better, even if that future is at Warrington



PS If he ever comes back to play against Widnes at SS I for one, will give the lad a standing ovation.

As great a move has it been for him, he's Wire through and through.

To be fair, he has stated he is Wire through and through and he is waiting for the call back, but nobody can question his commitment.

He is one of the most genuinely exciting players in British RL, and hopefully he will continue to improve and have a long career at the top level (but back with us!)

He is certainly not holding back. The man likes to prove himself. We've had certain players come here on loan who treat their tenure as a bit of a holiday. I don't think anyone would argue that Tomkins gave his all whilst here.

Penny might be a wire but he is giving his all right now and that is all you can ask for.

And that is precisely why I've got so much time for him. Whatever his faults are (which are grossly overstated) he gives 100% of the effort 100% of the time.

I saw him play for our reserves this season and he ran 20 yards to pat people on the back there as well.
