| Quote so for years now you've been progressively getting worse. Worse on the pitch, lower attendences. You're so far out of the big four now it wont be long before you're thrown into the licensing demotion mire'"
HAHAHAHAHAHA, i forgot Widnes were going to come up and win the double. Where are the mighty Widnes in the championship (a whole league below Bradford) Oh yeah thats right below mid table in 6th position.
You bemoan our facilties, we have THE best training facilties in the league. Odsal's not the greatest but it serves purpose. Then you have the cheek to comment on low attendances, What was our attendance against Hull on Sunday...14k. thats 1k more than your entire capacity.
Nothing against Widnes, but makes me laugh when people start slating my club, when theirs isn't a patch on ours. FACT! We don't claim to be the biggest or best at the moment, but we're certainly bigger and better than a team 6th in the Championship

| Maybe the training facilities are too nice and the players are too busy relaxing on nice comfy chairs then actually getting the work done?
Before you have a pop Widnes had a similar thing with a 'club room' Inc Wii etc and eventually took all 'games' out of it!

| Quote ="Chris Dalton"Slander? Get a grip, this isn't Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney.
And I repeat. We will not be emulating you. I went to Bradford when we were in super league, a few times. You had everything on the pitch. Sure, it was highly reliant on imports, but what a team! Yet everything from the view to the crumbling terraces to the stands whereby your guest fans were open to the elements (and soaked) whilst only home fans seemed to be huddled under the covers '"
Makes me question if you've actually been to Odsal. The home fans stand on the side opposite to the seating area. So the home fans are uncovered as well. If you want to go into the seating area at the stadium then you can do, subject to a small upgrade charge. There's no segregation at Odsal, you can stand, or for that matter sit, where you like
Quote ="Chris Dalton"
Now, bring up the past all you want, but we're talking about the here and now. We're a team who is coming up, fresh, and we wont be emulating the dulls, because in the hear and now, you're rubbish in so many areas. You had it all and instead of investing in infrastructure and the future you didn't and so for years now you've been progressively getting worse. Worse on the pitch, lower attendences. You're so far out of the big four now it wont be long before you're thrown into the licensing demotion mire. You went all out this season by throwing season tickets at people, and what did you give them? Do you think they will be aching to buy them back at full price?'"
TBH it tends to be other teams bringing up the past to Bradford. About how great they were once upon a time. Yes, the Bulls have gotten worse over the past few years due to so woeful mis-management of off-field issues and these are not things that can be solved by waving a magic wand. However, the current board are a lot more focused and prudent and we no longer have a chairman who's main aim in life is getting one over on the chairman of a nearby club. And as you clearly point out, our board have moved to correct the problems at the club, such as introducing a novel and highly successful season ticket campaign. Out of the big 4? Well yes, we are. But so are Cas, Salford, Hull FC and Rovers. Leeds are only just limping into their spot. In fact, we're currently at a point where, stadium aside, we're in a fairly safe position in terms of licencing, so I wouldn't worry about our relegation JUST yet.
Oh and another point on the season ticket thing, they won't be full price again next year. This was said at the start of the year following the successful uptake of the offer.

So you're calling me a liar? I've been to Odsal more than a few times. Last occasion I was there, all our away fans were getting drenched behind the sticks with one of the poorest views in rugby league. All the home fans were huddled under a roof. I've heard the no segregation argument before, and I say this, when you are directed by stewards to a certain stand, you go there. I've had this argument from leeds fans too, and I say this, when you're not familiar with a ground you go where directed.

I've no doubt about that but irrelevant in this conversation as it wasn't the case.

I take your point about the season tickets. Leeds however, are more than in the big four. The big four is about more than the league position, it's about standing in the game. Bradford are getting further away from where they want to be.

| To be fair roofs, I don't want to fall out with you. You've always come across as a reasonable sort and I don't have anything against Bradford. It was the attacks on widnes from people which set me off and that ridiculousness about elders which really set me off!

| i for one would not be surprised if bradford went to make way for halifax, the club are in debt, the ground is a dump there are no real academy products, and they are still over reliant on imports......watch this space...................

I would, but only because they are ahead of quite a few clubs. I think they're actually technically safe this time around. It'll be Cas, Wakey, Salford with a Crusaders wild card if they are more unsustainable than we know, but that's an unknown quantity and they will stay if able. You have to say Bradford are ahead of those. And maybe KR too. Salford have made themselves safe this time although the crowds have to come with the new stadium.

Yeah, well you'll notice I left that bit out when I quoted you. Should tell you what I thought about it.
Quote ="Viking Warrior"i for one would not be surprised if bradford went to make way for halifax, the club are in debt, the ground is a dump there are no real academy products, and they are still over reliant on imports......watch this space...................'"
Err.. Wrong on every point there I think.
Bradford are not in debt. Certainly we've made a loss in the last year, but that's not the same as debt. There are long threads on the Bradford board about this exact point and I've no desire to go pull out all the relevant points of those threads just to show you up. In fact most SL clubs operate at a loss.
True, there's a lot wrong with Odsal. However, in terms of what is needed from a ground we tick nearly all boxes. We've a large number of facilities including food outlets, bars and toilets. We've a great corporate centre at the far end of the ground.
No real academy products. Just in the team at the moment there's Whitehead, Olbison, Burgess, Crookes, Addy, Donaldson, Crossley, Langley, Halley, O'Brien, Bateman, Kopczak, Finigan, McAvoy, Sykes, Southernwood. Or to put it another way, we've got pretty much most of a team of decent young lads getting ready to come into SL. And Paul Sykes
And just round SL there's Leon and Karl Pryce, Stuart Fielden, Paul Deacon, Brett Ferres, Stuart Reardon, Chris Bridge, Ryan Atkins, Joe Wardle, Jamie Peacock, Kieren Hyde. I'm sure there's a few others that I've forgotten. But I think you'll find that your point is invalid.
As for over-reliant on imports? So is the rest of the league. Because there's not enough quality english players in the game so in order to be competitive clubs have to sign overseas players.

| Going back to the OP, why are Hull mentioned as being one of the teams which have too many overseas players?
Our team this year has 16 regular first team players who are from England, with a further 9 youngsters who over the next year or two, will begin to have more inclusion in the squad.
Not to mention the academy squad, who over the past few years have been one of the dominating teams in the league.
This leaves 6 players in the team, who are not English born.
IMO, it's not about having too many overseas players, it's more about how well the youth is being brought into the team, and judging by these numbers, we're managing to do that just fine.
And take yourselves, you've got a great set up for youngsters to be in the squad in the next couple of years, but it's inevitable that there will be a handful of players who are overseas.
And this handful is not a lot, at all.
Besides, there are plenty of other clubs in the SL who's English born / Overseas ratio is a lot worse.
