Thacks is young and improving. I think he'd go well in SL given another chance.

Much worse than other half backs, worst defender at half back we had in years, like i said i like the kid, i would like to see him do well, I'll always be grateful for the part he played in us winning promotion in 2007, but his defence was nothing like sl standard thats why we got rid, no one doubted his attacking ability.

I admit his defence is sometimes poor in the championship, which i saw against Leigh.He is a good player but i do have doubts for Superleague.Be a good squad player for cover though.

Funny as I think in our league for a half back his defence is one of his major plus points? Can't ever re-call him being a liability whatsoever! Come on Offthecuff you can't judge anyone's defence against Leigh all terrible, especially not Thacks as he was at FB 2nd half.

He has good upper body strength and holds his line well. He was unlucky at Fax as they were struggling and he was still very young, only about 20? Bare in mind he never played a full season until he joined Widnes I think he's been excellent and really improving. Without a doubt worth his shot in SL as well... he's got us there!

Apparently Widnes contacted Lockyer's manager to ask if he'd be interested. He's not, but it's good to see ambition.

When you look at the lists of OOC NRL players, I hope that Widnes are looking at the reasons why some of them would want to come over. Luke Bailey and Preston Campbell at the Gold Coast have been absolute revelations as leaders on and off field. Finding someone - from SL as well - with the same attitude is key.

In terms of pure numbers, one source will probably be whichever SL side Widnes replaces?

I think Clarke would do a decent job, his defence is absolutely immense and that's what most sides lack on promotion.

I possibly would...I still think he is a better hooker than either Netherton (who is likely to get a contract) or Coyle and more importantly he was a genuine leader that we are visibly missing this year.

Wouldn't be surprise if Mike Cooper isn't approach with the Cullen connection, and the promise of starting 17..and a great young forward to have. also Penny was always a favourite of Culls.
There a few on the fringe at the wire that I wouldn't want to lose but could possibly be tempted away Williams, Blythe etc. depending on their contracts obviously.

In seriousness. personally would like to see stick with most of the players bring in a few and see how your team goes before bringing in a load of average joes. You have 3 years to build a team.
