Fax fans, please at least be gracious in victory. I doubt Barrow will be 'quaking in their boots' after tonight's game, just like Widnes & Halifax weren't 'bricking it' after our match v Barrow, 3 weeks ago on Sky.

Beating Widnes dosnt make you the best team. Why would beating a team that will struggle to make the top 4 make you the best team.

Entertaining game, more to come from both teams but just get the feeling that the biggest improvement will come from Fax.

Suprised on many fronts.
Widnes pack was very poor, game never started, number of basic errors, number of penalties and I expected a lot more at the gate.
Gene and Aizue need to retire, and just how many non Brits do Fax have

Gene and Aizue were about as effective as a bag of marshmallows out there. Similarly Tampons and Shirley Watene were equally as ineffective.

Jeez - it's a wonder we won the game with four inneffective players.

Yeah, Mr Blobby (Thug/Criminal/The Fridge/Haggis) was very effective too as he was carried from the field crying out for his mummy.

There were players that stood out for you, penky and gleeson being two. Those 4 though weren't the ones that played a major role in your victory.

Said, Aizue, Frank and Maloney all had belting games, I don't think any Fax fans were expecting Widnes fans to agree though. Stan is still a great player, granted last night he didn't "stand out" but he had a solid game. Good result for us though, [uaway at your place is always tough[/u. White should be included more in my opinion, caused lot's of problems on his breaks last night.

I thought he was poor to be honest, he was 4th man in to the fresh air challenge which saw Haggerty on the floor. Usually he's the third man in.

What has that got to do with anything? You're all making out like Haggerty's injury was his only contribution to the game and the only Widnes player actually out there? He didn't have the best of games but who does every match?

I'd rather look at the contributions of the likes of our own (yes our own homegrown player) Dave Houghton against your pack who never took a backward step.

Look if you want a meaningful debate or conversation on the merits or deficiencies of the players last night lets have one. I'm all ears, however this constant back biting and Haggerty slating is getting beyond tedious and simply isn't relevant. I said yesterday that Fax's gameplan would be to try and rattle our cage and with Haggerty that is exactly what they did from the off.. his first carry ended with him checking his mouth to see whether it was bleeding.
Haggerty's problem last night was that he tired very quickly which led to him being sloppy... If we are talking about dirty Tamghart's challenge on Yates was despicable... he sized him up and nearly yanked the lads head off.

I wouldn't say that Fax's forwards did anything too impressive last night nor would I say they bossed our lads around. The game was fairly even from that score. The game changed when Widnes tired and made a few stupid mistakes. Two tough games in five games had a visible effect on our players and but for a few millimetres in Grady's kicking we would have won.
They've packed their team with 'stars'.. last night we had five players on the pitch that have come through the academy system and we matched them. That will be of more interest to the RFL who have targeted Youth Development as a key area in the licence decisions.

I've also heard Fax fans say that they haven't got started yet... well... they could just as easily get worse..
