I agree, They were relegated and should stay down. If Gateshead continue to trade it should be in the league they were in, NL1.

I'm not sure to be honest. Nothing against Leigh and always look forward to our clashes with them but at the end of the day, they are a licence rival and the state Gateshead appear to be in, I'd much rather them be in our divison.

How pi$$ed would we all be if Leigh stayed up and either a) They reach the GF and win a licence, or b) we went down with Leigh sending us down on the last day of the season.

Leigh being in the division increases the excitement but it is playing with fire a little.

IT'S 2015/18/21/24 MAYBE FOR Leigh, doesn't matter what crap league we're in next season. 2012 is for Widnes or someone that isn't from NW England.

Gateshead are currently expelled from the RL. If they come back, it appears that they have asked to be in C1, so that they can 'start again', mainly with local players. On that basis, they wouldn't be able to compete in the Championship, anyway.

Whether anyone replaces them, in the Championship, is another matter! Although Championship chairmen would not be happy with only nine home league games - they wanted the league increasing, not decreasing!

I was quite pleased when Leigh were relegated and Keighley took their place as they always bring a lot of fans to our place. As for a choice between Leigh and Gateshead there wasnt a big difference in the number of fans they brought, maybe if Leigh had a team capable of finishing mid table then they may bring a few more.

We could have said the same about 'you lot' few years back.
Wasn't a 'big difference' in visiting fans to our place. You lot brought about 200, Gateshead brought 3.

If we stay down , fair enough we deserved it

If we come back up , fair enough it will be the decision of the RFL for the health of the competition and other clubs in it

Either way I'll be down cheering the boys on against whoever and wherever they play

I agree with the competition - it would be stronger. The Championship needs a strong Leigh.

No point winding them up now. If anything i just feel sorry for them. All that expectation every year and every year more dissapointment for them. At least if they leave them where they are they will have a chance to win something. Oh but they still think they can win the NRC.

Yeah winning the NRC from Championship 1 is a tad optimistic, im sure Wobbie Paul will work wonders for Leigh even if he's 34.

I reckon we'll have two tough games against Leigh next year. Millward is no mug and he'll have them playing a lot better than last year that's for sure.

Just like he did at Wigan, and he never got a number one job in Australia.
