But you can't seriously be that happy about signing Gardiner can you? What about the kids you where bringing through, Flynn, Grady and that other lad? From what I have seen they are all better than Gardiner.

Strength in depth my good man. I am very happy about Gardiner. He is a similar player to Varkulis but probably a bit quicker and his flexibility is the key. He might have been found out now and again at SL level but in this division he will be very good.

Flynn is a winger and will get his chances as will Grady. Yates will get plenty of game time too. No-one is expecting these players to play every minute of every game. They are developing and will continue without the pressure of needing to be selected week in week out. Watch out for Dave Houghton, Anthony Mullally and a few others too.

Nurture.. it's all about nurturing the talent rather than over exposing them.

You don't have any one come close to Robbie paul's stature & skill at Widnes who needs a manager when you've got his skill & expertise on the pitch all will be clear in the coming seasons starting from next! Mark Smith Dominated Robbie Paul last time he was at Salford and for that year they never beat Widnes home or away. The fact that he's added more years to his considerable age means he's in for another beating.

Anthony Thackeray will run rings around him next year along with Smithy and Webbo.

Unbelievable... You're forgetting where your team was only a few days ago and you're coming on here talking like Leigh are world beaters. Short memories these lobby's..

we was pretty poor last year but we were still we able to beat you home & away wots your excuse? When Millward first became a coach at Leigh 10 years ago we were near the bottom then he turned it around & got us in the top 4 so wots your reason for him being unable to do that with the good enough funding that we have?

History shows that coaches who go back for a second bite never make it work as good as the first time. The fact that this league is at it's strongest ever means millward will have his work cut out to make Leigh a big top end team. Of course you will improve and im sure the general vibe around Leigh will be a lot more positive but coming on making statements like your going to hammer us is a little OTT. Granted we were very poor in both meetings with Leigh last year but somehow i dont think that will be happening again.

You beat us and still couldn't stay up. We won the NR Cup and finished 4th. I don't think any excuse is needed.

You may well go better next season but I still don't see why you come on here beating your chest as if you've took 6 points off us already...

The only reason you can come on here and do that is purely due to your 'great escape' out of relegation, which seems to be conveniently forgotten now.

As for Robbie Paul's 'skill and expertise' coming clear over the coming seasons, that opportunity came and went long ago..
