Quote="ian c"Maybe John, i was on the Speckled Hen, that was ok, you are not keen on real ale though are you John.'"
I'm not keen on the lighter coloured real ales they're to much like bitter to me. I like the darkers ones which are like stouts. The three pidgeons at halifax had a couple of good ones on.

I it's a good pub The Three Pigeons, i prefer the darker ones as well John.
The IPA is brewed by Marstons and has an ABV of 3.6% and is priced at £1-29. It is a tasty beer. Speckled Hen 'which they ran out of last Sunday ABV 4.5% cost £1.80 a pint.
They also have the lagers presumably for the American tourists that visit Leigh in large numbers in summer. They are a bit undisciplined though as usually they put ice in their beer.
Oh and cider of course for those visitors from the South.
