I am very happy about this. Seems to me that our squad is coming together again. Lots of new faces.
The club has once again reacted well to a challenge. We shall see how this new look team fares but we have to be confident again at making the play offs and challenging for that final.
The trouble with all this is there is no continuity. One big advantage Rovers will have tomorrow is that they have a stable squad, used to each other, the positions they are playing and their roles in both attack and defence. Widnes, meanwhile showed against both French sides that at times they look all over the shop as a result of this continual chopping and changing. I'm not blaming anyone, it's been forced on them because of injuries, but I can see it costing them tomorrow.
As long as the key positions are covered i think we'll be right, for the most part of the season the following have played in the correct roles consistantly
1. Scott Yates/James Ford
6. Anthony Thackeray
7. James Webster
9. Mark Smith/Kirk Netherton
13. Chris Gerrard
Full Back has swapped between 2 players and now Hooker has a change but we'll be okay.
