The RFL have a regulation saying that a club has to have a separate Chairman and CEO as well. Or at least they used to. Which would mean that AP couldn't fill both roles on a permanent basis regardless of his connections with City.

Not so. Hudgell did both at Rovers and said the RFL had no issue with it when asked in an interview.

From what I understand they have no issue with it as a temporary situation but don't allow it as a permanent arrangement. I could be wrong though.

Not sure- 20 months is longer than the average CEO tenure at Rovers, so certainly not temporary in that context.

I think the separation of roles is needed for listed companies but not ltd ones.

Just watched it, I am very very very impressed with AP. There were s few things he said which give me huge optimism for the future. He seems to have a steely determination about him and I back him to get it right.

Not sure I buy into the theory that his eyes were all over on curtain questions, he seemed like that throughout.

The key things for me were:-

1) The root and branch review of all coaching.

2) The re-pricing of season tickets to encourage bigger crowds.

3) The flexibility over matchdays.

4) The potential investment in training facilities which is badly needed.

5) The things he said about recruitment and using the cap to its maximum.

A very exciting time for the club I feel.

Totally agree. I've also been very cautious about getting carried away but listening to AP in that interview is nothing short of inspiring. It is impossible to not be 100% positive about everything on and off the pitch.

It is very easy to think that we will win something under AP very soon.

I am more positive than I have been for a very long time.

Not read the thread but just watched the interview. After the last 10 years, simply being able to watch the owner of Hull FC talking frankly about all aspects of the club and clearly showing some real ambition gives a mixture of relief and excitement for me. As a fan I'm looking forward to the coming seasons with renewed optimism. I believe Pearson understands exactly what is needed to take the club forward and will act to ensure this happens. Already looking forward to next year and looking forward to seeing the season pass offers appear. Bring it on.

There have been a few recent comments that make me believe we haven't been spending full cap in recent years.

Maybe the club expected a dip in crowds, merchandise and corporate sales due to the economic downturn and tried to save money accordingly?

Adam Pearson comes across in the interview as a very down to earth individual with a desire to achieve in anything he does and hopefully our on-field future will now match the off-field achievements.

It was great to see the Hull owner speak openly & frankly about the club.
We've not had that openess since Shane Richardson left. That contrasted to JR's spin in the interview (which was even more noticeable - especially after the question about youth players).
To be fair to JR, he's had to work to the agenda of the previous board. I'm sure the last few weeks have been a culture shock to him!.
I feel nothing but positive about the future now. Just competing will no longer be good enough it seems.
The new regime certainly contrasts sharply to the old one. I truly believe that AP taking over will prove to be a defining moment in our recent history.

If he were half as good as some one here believe him to be then he'd have done this full review of the club already wouldn't he?

If Rule isn't any good then I would think Pearson will get rid of him. As things stand he hasn't yet and the longer that remains the case then the more evidence there is that Rule is pretty good at his job. Certainly 2 A grade licenses in a row isn't a bad achievement and Rule should take a large amount of credit for that. Rule will likely have to up his game a bit as will most at the club as a result of the change. Same for all staff I would have thought.

Not sure what you mean. James Elston was Operations Manager at Hull KR, not Chief Exec.

Pearson isn't our Chairman though - at least not officially. He's named on the club website and the programme as simply "Owner".
