Radford could well turn out to be a great coach, in fact i hope he does. He was promoted far too early and the thing about Shaun Wane is he learned his craft under successive proven Wigan managers in a system that churns out stars year in year out.

I hope Radders has enough now to guide him through the 2015 season because if he fails he will be gone very quickly simple as. That would be yet another wasted season and with a another re building year in 2016 its like we are stuck on a treadmill. I wished AP had bitten the bullet and got an experienced coach and this could have helped everyone.

We shall see, I just have this nagging feeling we will be re running previous season threads on failure again ......

To be fair, Lee has "put his hand up" in the HDM today, at first I thought, excuses,excuses,excuses. But then I thought it over again, a lot of people having their first season in their role, so I now don't blame Lee, in the same way I don't blame Miller for his wage. If you get a job, it is the gift of someone else, if you don't have the ability and knowledge and experience at the time, that isn't your fault. It's down to whomever hired you.

He doesn't read these social network sites, he gets grief from some of our so called fans at the ground or out in public, & his lass & kids! Which is not nice imo.

The majority of us don't take every single opportunity to slag off our coach, and we actually enjoy being Hull fans. Does that mean we're ALL related to Lee?

Exactly that, I support FC no matter what players/coach are in place, sometimes don't agree with what's going on but nothing I can do about it, they are the club I will always follow through good & bad times, we've had a poor season on reflection on what was hyped up from our owner, coach & players, but i will be still supporting in 2015 onwards, I think Wane got things wrong last night, but there is no pulling him apart, in what was Wigans biggest game of the season, I also think Smith missing that goal was massive for the loss also, but again no massive over reaction on the pies board, if it was on here it would have been pulled to bits by a certain few so called fans, some of our fans just like to call our staff hoping they fail so they look like they are right.

You can hardly compare wigan's season with our. if radford had coached us to the double last year and the GF this I think most fans would cut him some slack

I read on Twitter that in the last 10 seasons Wigan have contested 5 major finals and we've contested 4. That can't be right, can it?

I'm sure it is but it's pretty irrelevant to my post given neither of the coaches have been head coach at either club for those 10 years

Absolutely it's another factor. As I said in another post, it's difficult/sometimes impossible to separate the calibre of player from the calibre of coach, at least until there is much more observable evidence.

It is, but it's a great example of how to manipulate statistics by choosing your cut-off dates well. Wigan have contested 5 major finals in the last 4 seasons, and none in the previous 6, we've appeared in one in the last 6, but 3 in 4 years before that. If you choose any amount of seasons other than 10 (literally any, I believe), Wigan are in front.
