Sounds like his playing days are over, coaching role for next season maybe?

He won't be playing for Hull next year so I guess the announcement will be that he's leaving. Thought he might try for a playing contract somewhere else. Can't see him coaching at Hull either. I hope not, we don't need any (more) novices on the coaching staff.

He's tweeted recently that he sees coaching as the natural progression of his career, but that he'd have to spend many years as an assistant learning the ropes before even thinking about a head coach role. Seems to have pretty realistic expectations TBH.

His tweet does at least imply that he won't be playing next season. Could see him doing well in media and punditry been the entertaining type of chap he is. Just not sure if there's enough money in it for him.

Not sure tbh. Laddish ex -player slots are taken up by O' Connor and McDermott. Jon Wells provides the insight and Cullen is just like that guy on the Fast Show ("jumpers for goalposts"icon_wink.gif with his random soundbites. I think of current players that Jon Wilkin is quite a good pundit when he's been on the radio, but can't see Long doing it as a career as there aren't that many opportunities - maybe could do something like Murdock does on RH over in Lancashire as a part time thing though.

We need another 2 forwards IMO, probably a prop on a 2 or 3 year deal to take Dowes' place. Preferably someone to take over the captaincy too, but can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

Also, we need a back rower to take Washys place (if we don't keep him on). This needs to be someone to come off the bench that would be happy playing 20 minutes a week that is reasonable cheap, so that once an injury strikes we're not straight into kids with less than 3 games between them!

Tickle should be captain next year. Washy's place in the squad could be taken by Kent/Cunningham/Green. If we keep Dowes we need one front row and one back row forward. Or we could get rid of Dowes sign one prop and a back rower that can play prop when needed (a fed trained Lauaki basically).

Perhaps you don't know the difference between and iceream van, and an iceream man!
