Whether he makes the grade in Super League as a number nine remains to be seen or whether, as many before him and will be after him, be destined to ply his trade in a lower league. Only time will tell.

What's going on with Ligi Sao. Surely if he was going to stay it would be announced by now.

yeh Ligi is worrying but I still think he will stay if he has been offered a contract last I heard he was still awaiting one but desperate to stay.

We seem to have adopted an attitude as a club that with the exception of announcements of new contracts we hear nothing at all from them in between,. I know as soon as I say that folks will immediately jump on me when the next signing is made but my point is, have a look down any rolling rugby league news feed and see the amount of none signing stories that come out of most clubs despite it being the quiet part of the British RL year and staff are on holiday. That is because with a massive need to sell season tickets and crank up the income next season they appreciate the value of keeping their fans engaged. Based on the sort of none stories they produce it looks like the Hull daily mail are getting little from the club at present either. Incidentally looking around a lot of Clubs have had their seasons on sale for at least a couple of weeks now too.

He's a quality player. He needs to be signed up before other clubs come calling.

It has been deathly quiet. They must be saving a lot of news up!

I think Ligi needs to be announced soon to keep supporters happy, and then any new signings next

Clubs a shambles. Baffled as to wtf is going within but no news coming through on anything. Not been as bad as this for many many years. I've heard James Clark is a big issue at FC throwing stupid money at resignings yet considering he seemed the most media savvy in years gone by ( I even thought he was Barista at one point) he has been silent - is there an issue there?

I know he's versatile and whenever he played was always bigged up as a bright ball playing prospect but for whatever reason doesn't seemed to have happened for him at the Sharks and it said on NRL 360 on Fox that he was going to join West Tigers, would go well in SL i think and at 24, good years ahead of him.

I think he'd be a good option to be honest, hes's still young with a good chance of making it in the NRL, SL for a year or 2 could be a good outlet for him to get some game time and put himself in the shop window to attract a deal back home.

We might be waiting on visa paperwork too, before announcing some.

The Sao thing is a little odd if we're holding back on an announcement, but the club probably have their reasons.

Stats don't tell the full story, but he doesn't look to be the metre eater that we need to help Satae.

He isn't a metre eater. He is more a ball handling back rower which I don't think we need

Don't know why the club seem to be hanging about with Ligi, I'd have got his signature on a new deal a while ago as he was one of the few that actually came out this past season with any credit. The only problem with him was the stupid minutes we had him play which led to him making a few more errors and giving away more penalties. Him and Satae are a very good pairing and think Satae's form was partially down to that.

Sao on holiday in Greece, so doesn't appear to be worried about his Rugby at the moment

Hopefully he’s signed Chris, and the club just haven’t released it officially yet, I quite liked the original plan “ or did I imagine it” with Ligi working at 13, giving him a little more room than smashing it down the middle as a prop, of course we need Tag and the new proposed prop to let this happen.

Of course Ligi has been a solid partner for Big Chris, and as you say, we overplayed him, just think he’s got a little more running threat to his game than he’s had the chance to express, he’s good, but just my opinion, he could be better.

Wonder if we should be looking at someone like Tyler Dupree to add some depth - looks a good prop, with plenty of size.

From what I've heard Rider he's still waiting an offer from the club which if true for is crazy. Like you I seem to remember the original plan when the club signed Ligi was for him to play mainly 13, which I think would certainly improve our game.

Signed for Widnes I think, looks like that's his level, a bit like Lewis Bienek, proves players need more than just size.

If this were true, a host of clubs would be knocking at his door, don’t you think. Plus I’m sure his agent would have touted him out there.

Dunno Armavinit, Wilf touched on it in an earlier post, it seems Ligi didn’t want to go anywhere else, but hopefully it’s just the delay in a positive announcement, causing the conjecture.

If you peruse a lot of the forums, Ligi is on a few wanted lists, only fan’s opinions granted, but that’s all we have as fans.

Just read an hypothetical article, saying that if the previous format for MW is used, looks like the Derby will be back? Plus loop fixtures and play offs we could end up playing the Dobbins at least 4 times or more!!!! The a great Unwashed will be clapping their hands in anticipation at finishing 8 points above us.
