Chase/Holdsworth partnership will be up there with the best we've ever had. All we need now is a couple of seriously good props and a strong running second rower.

I can't believe that we'll get Taylor, Bateman etc.. but there are plenty of good ones out there and they don't cost anything like the amount that you have to pay for quality pivots.

People have to realise there is no way we will have a team of top signings, it's about balancing the cap, we have gone balls out on halfs with chase and holdsworth, and will have to bring in some potential alongside them to devolp into top players

But things have never been so good with the team AP/PG are putting together

So you're talking about players like Amor? and hopefully re-signing a player like Aspinwall who IMO has been a fantastic signing (contrary to what I thought at the time).

It's a good point and one I've made recently mate. Some fans dont like McDonnell but he's a good player with potential, like with Watts, Arundel and Pitts. There has to be some balance

See what you are saying but give Arundel a chance he has a bad year with injuries, the previous season he played 26 games.

We also have Crooks, Whiting and Horne who can play there, so I think we will be Ok.

I'll take that bet, i'll give you 10 and under in League and Cup.

Obviously we don't know the full squad but we look quite balanced for the first time in years.

Not sure what people want, we cant have 20 players in each position, we have potentially 5 centres that I have named for next season, plus possible the promotion of at least one young player.

I am very happy with our centres next year, one very expereinced centre and two exciting prospects, all British.

If we sign McDonnell and Horne stays on we have another who has played there at a good level.

Hope the Brother is right and no reason to think he isn't.

However a couple of questions..

How can we release Seymour without it counting on the cap, this year or next? Unless he has committed gross misconduct it is going to cost a lot if he has 2 years left at (for arguments sake) £140K per year. Who would pay him even close to that on recent performances? We'd probably need £100K to pay him off.

Also seems strange that Widnes would want McDonnell when they already have Briscoe for that position on a good contract and who isn't (as we remember) able to play in other positions.

We could wait until November, when the new salary cap year begins, and pay him off before he plays a game. If he doesn't play a game his salary doesn't count.
