With Lauaki and Tickle both doubts i'd bet my house that Burnett will figure somewhere on Monday. (unless we push Fitz into 2nd row to accomodate Washy at 13)

I wouldn't criticise Fitz for one second for what he did but it was no different to what Lauaki did in terms of lack of discipline. You criticise Lauaki but not it seems Fitzgibbon. According to your theory Wire will be niggling Fitz from start to finish because of what he did against Rovers. Total tripe but hey no surprise there.
You should have worn a scrum hat. Mind you I'm sure international player Lauaki will be coming to you for advice now he knows of your pedigree.
'"
Your point is wrong, plain & simple. Losing your temper & retaliating costs games(what if he'd have got 10 in the bin??) Getting back at someone in a legal sense is all the more sweeter and attracts less attention to you because you have done it completely fairly.
Just look at how many dirty shots are given against a player who makes a perfectly legal massive hit compared to one who lashes out. The mere fact that you do not react is more than likely to attract less dirty shots if you show it isn't working. Retaliating to try to say "dont mess with me" is what you do in the playground.
Hame was in the wrong to do so, however the ref didn't deal with the situation particularly well either.
Fitz does not retaliate in the same way Hame does, nor anywhere near as frequently.

Dont think weve got enough fit bodies to move Whiting out of the backline.
I'd rather we leave Fitz at 13 and play Burnett though. Would lose some of Fitz value by making him play in one channel of the pitch.

Tickle wont play and i cant see how lauaki can seen as he suffered concussion, dont you have to have the head test thing before you can play again, briscoe doesnt look good either,so i reckon we will see a few different players come in,burnett will replace tickle wont he,sure he did that earlier in season.

I'd imagine the following side:
Tansey
Whiting
Turner
Yeaman
Hall
Horne
Long
Cusack
Berro
O'Meley
Burnett
Manu
Fitz
Houghton
Dowes
Moa
Radford
Use Radford in the 2nd row.

Fitz ran 20ish yards to retaliate - an action that could have been penalised and ultimately cost us the game. Was he not in the wrong as well according to you ? Good on him I say you cannot be dominated in any way in these games. I say well done to both - you try to excuse Fitz and blame Lauaki. Fair enough if that's what you think. Seems like double standards to me.

Not excusing him I'm saying that Fitz didn't do it directly in front of the ref so was less likely to be caught, Hame did it right under the refs nose on 3 occasions in one match hence why one was pulled up & the other not. Fitz has not given away anywhere near as many penalties as Hame nor relatiated as much. Hame should hand it back legally or he'll continue to be targetted by oppos players & refs alike and will get sent off sooner rather than later.

As I said earlier we'll agree to disagree. I don't believe as a player you can allow yourself to be dominated illegally by the opposition. Yes ideally you would always turn the other cheek and let your playing do the talking but in 30 odd years of watching Hull I know for a fact if there is some illegal stick going in in normally blows up. It did today in the 20's by all accounts and it always will. I used Fitz purely as an example that even the very top and most respected players in the game don't take any and I agree with that. You don't and that's fair enough.
FWIW Hame isn't our most indisciplined player this year in terms of penalties conceded and when he came on yesterday he did absolutely nothing wrong until being caught by the pathetic Cockayne's elbow while unable to defend his head. Even then he didn't retaliate until the little e started mouthing off at him while again he was still on the ground. Again, after that incident, he didn't go looking for anything until Newton gave him some more. Should have hit Newton much harder but never mind. Like I say I haven't got a problem provided it isn't our players starting the niggle. Then it becomes unacceptable ill discipline. Enough now for me anyway none of us will change our minds on it.

| Quote ="cod'ead"A knock on the leg can hopefully be "run off", it was obvious to anyone apart from our medics that his problem wasn't a knock to the leg.
If he hadn't been hit by Webster, when that Rovers' pass went to his feet, he'd have scooped it and gone under the posts.
Personally I'd have brough Lauaki back in place of Briscoe, if for nothing else other than to put Webster into the 5th row of the best stand'"
ffiw Briscoe didn't pick up his knock against Webster. It was when he dropped on a bouncing ball and Fox tackled him. I think he caught Fox's knee but it was accidental imo.

| We have arguably a world class centre in Berrigan. We have Whiting who is in great form and must be aching to play in his true position , 13. Houghton is younng and fit enough to play 80 minutes ( good enough ? Time will tell but may as well have a crack at it ). That frees up a bit more flexibility from the bench. Fitz is playing as a prop rather than a pivot so he can do that from the second row. I'm in a minority of one I know but
Tansey
Hall
Berro
Yeaman
Turner
Horne
Long
Ogre
Houghton
Radford
Manu
Fitz
Whiting
Moa
Dowes
Cussack
Washbrook
Seems the obvious way to go to me.

| lets see how young turner can go at centre looked very good against rovers there in the pre season derby win and has most of the attributes to be a top class centre. leave berro in his best natrual position at hooker with houghton coming on after 25 mins or so to add some speed and impact.cant see tickle, briscoe or lauaki playing so id bring in moa, washy and turner.
1.tansey
2.whiting
3.turner
4.yeamen
5.hall
6.horne
7.long
8.omeley
9.berro
10.cusack
11.fitzgibbon
12.manu
13.washbrook
subs
14.moa
15.houghton
16.radders(rotate at secound row)
17.dowes
i woundt be suprised to see burnett in there aswell but who for i dont know maybe fitzy but cant see it hes just a machine
for me this is the strongest and best team available presuming briscoe, tickle and lauaki dont make it.
