I am pleased if not a little surprised that more Dobbins fans have not been on here having a go about Shaun. But perhaps they are a bit wiser than that!

And now the RL think that when he only states in his book what everyone else including the RL themselves know is happening, he will go in there an sit down with a list of his colleagues that are up to no good.

These are great athletes but are made up of some real proffessionals and a lot of young lads and daft lads, Every club and their supporters know all sorts of stuff that should not be going on, goes on, the smoke without fire stuff circulates all the time ranging from fighting to drugs, to drinking to betting etc etc.

They would be better taking it all with a pinch of salt and getting on with it and moving on!

As for the media taking an interest well its the Daily Mail and perhaps no little children have dropped any litter in the City Centre of late!!! The nationals took it as it was and serialised it last week, they have moved on!

The media will forget about it soon enough. RL simply isn't sufficiently newsworthy and there are always bigger and better scandals cropping up to boost their circulations with.

The RFL's statement is pretty wishy-washy and may indicate that they'd rather make a token effort and let the whole thing die down quietly. The very last thing they'll want is for Long to actually turn up at Red Hall with a long list of names that they would then have to investigate and possibly charge, bringing far more negative publicity.

At the moment the only thing Long's in line for is a [ipossible[/i misconduct charge if he refuses to cooperate with any inquiry. If he backs down from his claims or simply states that he doesn't have firm evidence against any particular individuals then it's hard to see him getting more than a bollocking TBH.

Still - there is still a risk and it would have been a whole lot better if he'd just left one or two 'revelations' out of the book altogether.

They might ask for a % of all books sales as a fine for bringing the game into distrepute

We have our own Judas, Sean will join us with whatever baggage he brings, like mentioned he choose us over Wigan, we will support him as it appears he has settled down, and judge him on how he plays/behaves whilst wearing our team colours.

having met the fella personally a few years ago I can confirm he was a prize t!t, perhaps he's grown up a bit but the release of this book suggests not (though it'll earn him a fair wedge so maybe he's not as thick as he looks!)
regardless of what he is like personally you can't knock his ability or record that's what matters to supporters and as kosh says the RFL are only making noises because it's been in the national press, it will die a death, they will do nothing and Longy will line up for you at the start of the season no problem.

She was not a 'young girl'. That makes her sound like she was 10. Read the book Rogues or, if you have, cite it accurately.

And Wigan board were a bunch of prigs. Widnes had no probs taking on Longy and nor did Saints. All knew of his suspended sentence for the assault charge (which came about after he had been hit by one of her friends). Wigan have regretted giving away Longy and Wigan fans have been envious of the success he has brought to Saints over the subsequent 12 years. And you're sounding more and more bitter with each post you write on this subject!



As for the betting business. The RFL has had that book for weeks. My guess is that they have been pursued by the media and so think it's a good idea now to 'have a chat with' Mr Long so as to be seen to be doing something. He won't name names and I can't see him being charged with misconduct or anything for that matter. The references were purely anecdotal and I'm sure his lawyer will be ready for it.

PS: Short of testing Hock every day, there is no way of knowing he will stay clean. After all, he hid his habit well for who knows how long before that test, didn't he?

Like others have said if what has said in the book effects his Hull FC or the team in anyway I wont be very happy.

Really he should have wrote the book after he had finished playing, having said that I can see why he has done it now.
