phelps is ok but as a quota player i feel we need someone who will offer us more espcially in attack, jordan tansey gave us some real attacking ability and alot of tries came through and his attackign plays where as i dont feel where getting that from phelps dont get me wrong hes solid under the high bomb and returns are ok but someone like McKinnon would be very good signing for us but only on a 2 year deal with the option for the third. jamie ellis is a really good signing but i do feel when his move is confirmed then it wont be long untill longy is confirmed on a 1 year deal which i suppose isnt that bad with the likes of obst,ellis,nicklas,williams and even turner so plenty of cover. all in all id be very happy if these 2 are at hull next year

Yup it's a strange one this, from what I've seen this year McKinnon has played well and is a decent player. But with phelps getting better game by game it would seem a bit premature to be signing a full back this early IMO.

Although Phelps is playing ok he was only ever a last minute stop gap once we sacked Tansey, if he was quality he'd have already had a club and not been available.

What it does go to show is that nobody on here has got a fooking clue!





If it is a done deal the club need to get their act together and get it announced seeing as it's all over several papers.

I hope you're right. Phelpsy seems to have fitted in really well, and although understandably rusty at first is improving with every game. I like him.
If the McKinnon story is true, it seems a bit of a punt for us with his recent injuries.

Not electric pace but his speed of thought makes up for it.

Good kicker and with full time coaching and practice will be an excellent kicker.

Very good near to the line on putting players through gaps and taking the chances himself.

Has come on leaps and bounds under 'Basil' Millward who likes a good organising Scrum half (Longy?).

Great team player but don't expect 75m breaks he's more of a creator for others.

Quite tall for a scrum half and has beefed up around the torso and shoulders since coming to Leigh which makes him strong in the tackle.

He left Saints under a cloud, but seems to have put that behind him and has been a model 'pro' this year turning up for 'out of hours' pro-mo's etc.
