To be honest, I am a little worried of the partnership, Granted the only evidence of the partnership is the 1 sided origin game quite a few years back but with the players getting older who knows. I keep praying we have a party piece up our sleave but if not, I will be there anyway backing the lads.I agree we need to wait and see but as people have pointed out wats the plan B if it doesn't work. Yes I do wear the black and white tinted specs most of the time and can tell you to have a try in the club shop and whilst your at it get your wallets/purses etc out and splash the cash on what is an excellent merchandise collection (thankfully this second part has balanced my FC Karma for the day)

I think they will work well, not brilliant, but the one year deal allows Thorman too prove he is worth keeping in 2010.

Even if he stays I think we will sign a SH for 2010.

If as claimed by Jon Sharp and others that Thorman is a vocal player on the field then he will bring in something which we lack, as well as a semblance of a kicking game. Sharp commented that Hull is a quiet team and it needs to change - it's a root cause of our obvious lack of organisation last year. Ideally we'd want more than that from a half but may have to wait a year for that so we get on with it. I'm sure with Motu as our third pivot, pivoting all over the place at the back, we'll be OK.

Which is a concern, I hope we don't get another season of "interesting" substitutions and tactical changes.

Thats a very good point actually. I think people are looking at how poor we were in attack last year and forgetting we were missing our first choice 1,6,7,9 (when Berro was moved) and 13 (washy had to play at 6 most of the year) for most of the season. No wonder we lacked any sort of organisation.

You cant forget pre-planned substitutions based on time, regardless of how the player is actually performing.

We played our best last season when Dykes was on the field, and that was because he was a gobby sod!

My prediction is Albo will walk after a few games and Jon-Boy will take over .

Yer but how often was he on the field?

At lesat with Thorman, we have a player who has had a good injury record. He may not be the best, but if he's on the park, I'm sure he will make a very big contribution to the team

Proof if it were needed how important the organisation aspect is to any team.

I'm not criticising the releasing of Dykes - simply stating the importance of a player like him who tells others what they should be doing and where they should be doing it - see previous posts.

I think most of the sensible posters on here realise Agar has a lot to learn as a Head coach but are prepared to give him a season to see how he develops. By the end of next season we will all have a clearer idea of just what sort of coach he is. I was one of those underwhelmed when he was given the length of contract he got but I'm prepared to give him a full season to see how he goes.

Problem is, if he turns out to be gash, he has a long contract. He's a nice guy, in fact too nice.

Just about every poster that has been around for a few years is in that situation Staffs, things have been a lot worse and a lot better for FC in the past.

Well I would hope he will get at least this full season and if the recruitment for next season is what we want then he should be given next season as well and so at least see out his contract. I'm not a fan of sacking coaches before they have had a chance to establish themselves anyway.
