D - how Hull folk moan who has paid the £1, how it should be taken and who from?

Not ONE SINGLE PERSON has complained about the donation, if you can read (or get someone to read it to you) you will see it is the fact that the "donation" is mandatory and people could be forgiven for thinking the club were giving the cash direct.

Of course, the big question now is whether Neil Hudgell will "donate" the extra £7 each charged for one game and one game only this season to charity, or keep the "involuntary levy" for himself.

I agree with you there, but I guess people in financial difficulties also need our support.

What about the way the extra £7 is "forced" onto FC supporters only for the derby and kept be Rovers? We have a choice, same as you, pay it and go to the match, or not.

As has been stated, its £17 to get in. Because of lack of demand it gets discounted and no matter how much you dig and try and twist things you know that is the case

A bucket collection would have sufficed. Maybe the donation will be passed on as "from a percentage of the proceeds from the recent Hull Derby" who knows????

Exactly, no matter how you try and twist it like I said. Full price for that game was £10 due to the discount if they'd have been quicker they'd have got further discount

I still don't see the problem.

The club are tacking £1 onto the admission price for non-pass holders and donating that to charity. If you're not a pass holder and want to go to the game you don't have a choice whether to give £1 to charity or not, so what?
More money will be raised this way than a bucket collection, good on them I say.

The club didn't mention how the money was raised in the press release. Again so what? I really don't see how that article reads as if the club are trying to take the 'credit' away from the fans.

There are a damnsight more important things to worry about in this world.

Wouldnt it be Ironic if a bucket collection from 25000 people, who put in what they want ended up more than the £15000 they are saying.

By lumping the extra pound in with the ticket price wont the club end up having to pay 15% VAT on every pound 'donated'

I don't think charitable donations are taxable.

how can they? doesn't every person buying a ticket have to fill out a form confirming they pay tax to do that?
