I would point out though that at no point have I made any secret of the fact that I wanted him to stay, nor that I consider him to be one of the best players at the club. His leaving is clearly going to impact our recruitment for next season, and if we make a hash of that then it [iwill[/i qualify as a blow under my definition of the term.

I doubt there's a single fan who wouldn't have loved to have him here next season, nor who would deny that he'll be a great signing for whoever he goes to.

I'd be laughing more at the saints fans who keep telling us it's a done deal.

that is one fekkin HOWGE lump of cash / cap to use for PG and bomber and that amount of cash available will tempt the best that are available in the world so in reality whilst we would i am sure all like to hold onto at least 5 of those mentioned in that short list if we loose any of them it opens up a whole new chapter in playing staff at FC I am sure of it
Now the initial Ellis fire has died down and for the sake of season pass sales alone AP would not let Manu go without making us all pee a bit with a replacement to match Manu in stature so maybe just maybe we should all continue to keep the faith and let happen what happens because either way i dont think were in bad hands now!

Numerous assertions of club loyalty over the years. Family settled with no desire to move. 2 year lucrative deal replaces by a 3 year one to meet his "requests". Old trophyless and deliberately lacklustre regime move out. New focussed, convincing and ambitious board move in, with the willingness, means and desire to make it happen. So why do Manu and Briscoe decide to go now, after the wilderness years just as there's genuine promise? Both loyal to the old lot but not apparently convinced by the new?
