I for one am not happy at having to pay my money up front to watch this crap any more!! I'm not stopping supporting the club but I'm going to pick and choose based on performance, if they play well they'll get more of my money. That's happened at every club year after year; it'll happen long after Agar and Co have gone.
I am not having a go at you or anyone else that makes that choice.
My choice will be to attend as many matches as possible, the same as it always has been.
I've seen some god awful games over the decades of watching Hull Fc, but games like St Helens (home and away) etc will live long in my memory: Those times make me want more.

And just how much cash are the current board members making out of the 'Golden Goose' Ian? I assume you have accurate figures to share since you keep banging on about this at every available opportunity.
We spend at the cap. We play in the best stadium in the league. We spend on academy and community projects. We make a profit. I honestly don't see how anyone without a personal axe to grind can have a problem with that.
As for the 'fans' having ago at fellow supporters for being 'sheep' - get over yourselves FFS. If you want to sulk and abandon the club out of some misplaced notion that it will help then that's your prerogative. Knock yourselves out. But lose the sneering disdain for people who simply want to follow their club through thick and thin. It just makes you look like a bunch of dicks TBH.

Well said Kosh....dont forget this is the bloke who claimed after the cock up with Thackery that he wouldnt go again yet turned up at Wembley...is he the biggest sheep going?
As for passes...sure,im re-newing mine for these reasons.
1- Been a fan for 35 yrs...not going to let a play off defeat stop me from following the team i love,.
2-cost of a pass is very very good.
3-very good seat in a superb stadium.
4-Have seen a bloody damn site worse that this and coaches..( Gordon,Casey and Walsh spring to mind)
5-Im a sheep...baaaaa baaaaa.

| Fantastic off the field. Rule is a good guy and does an excellent job. There is no way in the world that anyone that wants to make money would sink their savings - or worse borrowings - into any sports club and certainly not a Rugby League club where the scale is too small to make anything worthwhile but where you could still easily lose your shirt. The people running the club I'm certain want success , love the prestige and would like the adoration - ok gratitude - of the fans if they could turn the team into winners. I just think that they are just not getting the recruitment right. There have been some major clangers in the recruitment and retention of players and coaches which have compounded each other and further compounded by our injuries and "bad luck". I've said all season that I can't see that we will make progress from here and fear that this year was in fact a bit of a pinnacle. We've got a lot of players who will be older and more tired next season , some with question marks over their form and health with just a couple of youngsters who we can have really high hopes for. Other teams that have at least looked better than us this year and some that are better look to have improved for next year. Without any signings it looks like a long close season and a long and tough season next year. The board will have their work cut out to engage this fan and persuade me to renew my pass rather than pick and choose my games.

| In many ways I applaud the board for wanting to create some stability in terms of the head coach and not making knee jerk reactions etc but they really haven't picked the best man for the job. Fair enough they gave Agar a chance but he just isn't the required standard for a top 4 club. He MAY be in the future but as all his coaching skill/experience has come from failed coaches at this club I don't see how he will improve. Next season will be very difficult for Agar as we will all be expecting us to improve again but i can't see it happening without some big signings.

| The club have not been in the mix for the trophies for 3 season. Why is that??? Is it due to the quality of the coach/coaching staff and/or the playing staff?? What does the club need to acquire better coaches and/or players??? OUR MONEY that's what
So we can all get our disappointed butts down to the ticket office for the season passes when the time comes and I will see you all there again next season
Have a happy winter folks

Arguably 4, we went out of the playoffs in week 2 in 2007. Wigan went straight out the week after beating us as well.

I know some directors have in the past been paid for consulting fees, I have no idea what happens now exactly. The term golden goose has been used by many fans over the year simply because many of them know we pay over the odds for most things.
Quote ="Kosh"We spend at the cap. We play in the best stadium in the league. We spend on academy and community projects. We make a profit. I honestly don't see how anyone without a personal axe to grind can have a problem with that..'"
I don't have any sort of personel axe to grind and as you have no close knowledge of me I can not see how you can comment. Those who know me well enough will tell you I do not bear grudges or have axes to grind its too time consuming and is damaging. I hope the club makes money it a good thing for the long term future of the club, but I do feel they have underspent in certain area's like coaching. The cheapest option has long been the only thing the club knows whet it selects its coaching staff.
Quote ="Kosh"As for the 'fans' having ago at fellow supporters for being 'sheep' - get over yourselves FFS. Where do I call fellow supporters sheep ?
Where we differ is that I have always tried to respect my fellow supporters views, its an internet chat room and many people have varying views. I have always respected that and I always will. if some one has a pop then I reserve the right to fire back. I still buy passes for my family and I will continue to do so. As for snearing distain, you do not know me so I would be careful using imotive words like that. I shall continue to attend games when I can and where do I state that I or other should boycott ?
Another assumption ?
I give you the opportunity to put the record straight about the "sheep" that was you calling fans sheep not me.
By the way this sheep has never been "herded" out of a stadium for bad behaviour that today would earn them a ban from the entire games stadiums .

That may be true but spot the plural in the word trophies......
We were in the Challenge Cup final in 2008
So perhaps arguably only 2.....

Forgot all about that! Possibly because I never for one minute thought we were in with a shout of it TBH. Think we only got there because of a nice draw TBH, Bradford was the only good performance IMO.

They can only spend to the cap maximum and have had our money at good levels for at least the last three years. Rovers apparently spend to the max on gates far less than ours as do most other clubs including Saints. It's how it's spent that counts.

| Maybe they could use some of the profits to swallow the VAT increase and leave ticket prices frozen for next season. £24 to attend a match is too much as it is. Another £ would be a big psycological barrier for some.

The VAT rise shouldn't affect season passes as they will be sold before January, I agree, the match day price really can't go up much further, not unless we spend some money in a fairly evident way.
The club making a profit is positive, but they cannot be seen to be making excessive profits with no success on the field.

Been saying it for years, we are not a £23 a game club
Maybe they should do a 3 year pass, or do an offer like the Bulls (15,000 fans though)

I agree, woulden't be surprised to see up to 1,000 less to be honest.
very little hype due to deflation of the derby defeat and lack of big name signings, and some drab rugby in the last 3 years.
I'll be honest and say the only reason I will renew is so that I don't lose my good East stand seats, if I was unreserved or sitting in the less populated West Stand I'd be picking and choosing games next season.
the club should also look at reducing its prices for the less high-profile games. Are they allowed to categories games like football clubs do? I.e have half the home games as a 'A games' at full price and the other half 'B games' at a reduced rate. Games against Quins, Salford, Crusaders, Catalan etc with no away fans and atmosphere simply aren't worth £23...they could get away with it when we were 'CC winners, grand finalists' but not now.

| Where's the tipping point in the price of a pass though? Would £10/15 either way make that much difference? If match day prices are reduced for lesser games that will devalue the season pass and make it more likley that people will not buy one and pick and choose their games.

I think in general our season pass prices and pay on the door prices need to be reduced. Obviously it's driven primarily by our overheads but i think the club should definately look at giving something back this year rather than continually exploiting fans.
£20 is the max i'd look to charge on the gate rather than £23 or £24.
If that means i get a season pass for £160 instead of £180 for example that works. (not that i'm getting a pass)
