Anyway, Paterson will take a non-fed spot, so his British passport only matters in terms of a work permit, not quota dodging.

Lovegrove is off quota because his family are British and he has a UK passport, iirc. He very narrowly misses out on qualifying as fed-trained - he wasn't quite young enough and arrived a few weeks too late to get a 'normal' 2008er dispensation. The RFL kindly gave us a special dispensation, but if they stick to their guns (I know), it'd lapse if he joined another club.

Thats generally, but not always the case.

It may be possible to find a Quota fed traind player, highly unlikely without dispensations etc, but being Quota doesnt automatically make you non fed. Got a feeling our recently returned hooker falls into that category.

Don't confuse the lad. Easty reckons that every quota player is automatically non-fed too. This is in section 3.1.b in 'Easty's One-eyed Guide to RL Rules'.

In the future they almost certainly will be, it'd take an unusual set of circumstances for a quota player to be fed-trained without a dispensation.
[uIf[/u the RFL believe they can enforce the non-fed rule, they should do away with quota in a couple of years, IMO - it isn't good to have so many rules, especially when so many people struggle to get their heads around them.
