I cannot see them waiting to announce any disappointing news too close to the time of season pass sales. If there is any disappointing news, then get it out of the way as soon as possible.

The visa remains valid unless UKBA decide to revoke it. Seems odd that it's seen as serious to prevent the issue of a visa, but not serious enough to revoke it. But that's UKBA for you!

It will need renewal at some point which is where the fun should start. Again.

In fairness, I've posted this information before on the VT and (I think) on one of your 'old' rumours threads.
I even upset a number of Cas fans when Rangi signed his new contract by saying that he only did so because he knew he had a court case coming up and wouldn't get a Visa after it, rather than because of his love for the club.

If we're awaiting a decision, why put a deadline on it? It's hardly going to speed up the UKBA.

No they wouldn't. The club don't appear to be involved in the application, except as an interested party, as it seems they've not gone down the sponsorship route, so UKBA will not give a shiny one what FC want to do or have planned.

They used to say don't call us until 14 weeks have passed, but that recently went up to 6 months, so no.

A major problem for Cas is Rangi's visa only runs until the end of 2013, the end of his original contract extension not his latest one. His new deal was signed after his conviction last year and Cas didn't apply to extend it as they thought that it would get refused. There was hope that in the interim period a change in his home life status (kid, marriage) would enable him to be successful nearer the time. That seems though as it will not be the case and there is a real risk that if he can't get a visa for Hull now then he'll be leaving Cas and the country at the end of next season anyway as there will be no chance of him getting a renewal.

This could be the start of the underwhelming news or could be the start of some amazing news.

Being a Hull fan for 30 years I'm guessing the former.
