Listen mate, it's a rumour thread.. You are only posting what you believe to be true. I think we all like a rumour and the thought that they will come true.
No need for you to leave, there will always be someone else claiming they are in the know.

"It's something that has been simmering for quite a long time. But it will come to a head very soon"
We need to just ![CHILL chillpill.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//chillpill.gif) and wait for the anouncement that Rangi Chase will be Hull FC No. 6 Next Season! (Fingers Crossed)

To get ANY Visa Chase has to meet suitability requirements, which he does not as he now has a criminal conviction. Quoted from the UKBA website:
[i"Your application for entry or permission to stay in the UK will be refused if
-the Home Secretary has decided that it would be in the public interest for you to be excluded from the UK ecause Chase has a history of violence;
-it is in public interest to exclude you from the UK because you have been sentenced to more than 12 months in prison if your conviction is not yet spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 [Chase's suspended sentence is not yet spent
-it is in the UK's public interest to exclude you from the UK because of your character, conduct, associations, or other reasons [a conviction for GBH does not show good character or conduct."[/i
If we put this into context, recently a bloke who has served in the army for 13 years, is married to a UK citizen and has two British children has been refused citizenship or a Visa.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18940236
[iA Fijian man who served in the British Army for 13 years is fighting to stay in the UK after being told he must leave the country by 9 August.
Isimeli Baleiwai served in Afghanistan and Iraq, before leaving the Army in June. He is married to a UK national.
But disciplinary action for a 2010 fight with a colleague means he is considered to have a criminal record.
But on 28 June 2012, L/Cpl Baleiwai heard that he had been refused citizenship and would also be refused Indefinite Leave to Remain because he had what the UK Border Agency (UKBA) classed as a criminal conviction so was not of "good character".[/i
Based on this, how anyone can think Chase will get a new Visa is beyond me.

As has previously been questioned, I don't understand then, how his Visa to play for Cas is still valid?

| As far as I understand it, the last Visa he got lasts for 30 months. It remains valid unless he is deported. This was granted before his conviction for GBH. After 30 months, it needs to be renewed (which could cause Cas a problem in about 2 years time!). However, it needs to be renewed at any point if he changes employer.

As a Cas fan I'd say I'm glass half full as it probably means we will keep Rangi. However, I'm glass half empty as come the end of his 30 month period for this Visa, we'll lose our best asset for bugger all.

No, he has a current Visa because he got it before his conviction. And is having problems getting another one after it, even more so because his conviction is not classed as 'spent' as he is technically serving a suspended sentence.

| Why go on record today saying an announcement will be in a few days??
Theoretically we are not going to win or loose the case in the next few days, one way or another it is already sorted.
If it has been rejected then why not just come out and say its been rejected on today's interview?!
I think it's smokescreen for an impending announcement welcoming Chase to Hull.. ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif)

I'm not sure about that one to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he was deported due to his conviction (and think he'd have been better keeping his head down rather than highlight his conviction by trying to get another Visa). Technically, he is serving a suspended sentence until June 2013, so am surprised he is allowed to stay in the UK.

Does seem a bit of a complicated matter, hope Hull know what they're doing
I don't see how the UKBA couldn't take the crime into account purely because it was in another country, that would be ludicrous.

Maybe the problem is regarding the agreement on a transfer fee, as the BBC website says, Shaun Mcrae has given a deadline of the end of the week to sort the deal out. If the problem is purely down to the visa then why not say visa instead of deal.

They are definately taken into account:
[i"We will carry out criminal record checks on all applications from people aged 10 and over. You must give details of all unspent criminal convictions. If you have an unspent conviction, your application is unlikely to be successful."[/i
Chase cannot claim that his conviction is 'spent' until 18 months after the end of his suspended sentence, which ends in June 2013. So I make that December 2014.

This ^^^^^^
The only single reason I could think of not announcing it today (had we failed) is because we now have someone else in place of him. If so, then they would (perhaps) want to announce both situations at the same time.

| What good would it do by Adam Pearson, by all accounts a good businessman, to inform his fans that the club hasn't signed arguably the top target of the season 3 days before next seasons' passes go on sale?
Doesn't make sense.
