IMO both props in the u-20's should be given a shot for the last few matches but we know that capt slow and sensible wont do it as he considers something radical like that to be totally alien to him

we recruit players past their best in the RFL, in fact, we retain players that have been second rate.

No one has said 2/3 players will make us great again but be realistic, we can't undergo massive recruitment for next season. We might need a centre if Gleeson goes, we need two forwards. that would leave us with a decent squad to challenge for 4-6th next season with the right coach.

The recruit well the season afterwards and we could then push for the top four places, it won't happen in one season.

So people are hardly talking tosh as you say.

I'd like to see us use Whiting in the 2nd row next year, he would do well there and be a massive improvement on Lauaki.

Not sure if these players are OOC but would look to try and sign Kyle Amor or Danny Kirkmond, i'd also keep an eye on the Griffin situation.

If Pearson is willing to spend some money I would target Larne Patrick and Craig Kopchak (spelling).

I find it odd that amount of stick that Lauaki gets.

Whiting is far too light weight to offer anything at second row. He would be dominated in the tackle far too easily. Lauaki might not run his weight but he does take 3 tacklers to put him down. How quick a play the ball we get out determines well attracting 3 defenders into the ruck is exploited.

I have disagree about Whiting,strong runner and always makes good yards, also has good hands, hand off and offload.

Lauaki is awful IMO, does about one good run a game, poor defence, very lazy in attack and defence.

The fact that he has been here nearly 3 years and I can remember one excellent game, a few average ones and lots of poor ones, says it's own story.

I wouldn't have him in the 17 at the moment, would rather play Green, Cunningham or Kent in his place, not a chance of this happening with Agar in charge though.

I'd agree about Whiting, I think he's underated, I'd like to see how he would perform at loose forward. Lauaki, can be a liability but I find him entertaining to watch. My mate summed him up when we went to watch Hull vs Harlequins last year, when he comes on, everything seems to happen around him, unfortunately its invariably a penalty to the opposition. As the other posters have commented, he does seem to have calmed down a bit.

Surely even with the four players brought in . We should have quite a bit of cap left if lauaki ,fitzy , phelps , longy , gleeson ? All leave . Ferguson is a good shout paul but only signed him this season dint they ?

Once free of the circumstances that have engulfed him at Rovers there is no reason he wouldn't come good again. He'll be cheap as Morgan wants rid and he's British. Just not sure if Hull is far away enough from Rovers for a suitable (ahem) "recovery space". Better immediate potential than Lyne and better defensively than Sharp?

I'd take Fox. He's done well in the past - England international a couple years back - but for whatever reasons he's had a poor season this year. However, I'd take him over Sharp and think he would improve our backline.

As for Fox - strikes me that there'll be a reason for such a dramatic loss of form. Think Rovers are throwing the baby out with the bathwater, although I don't think it was Fox that made it murky in the first place. You don't lose skill like that. It's still there and will be back with the right treatment. Someone will pick up a cheap bargain, there.

quite simple really you dont become rubbish overnight having been players player and player of the year , to been the boo boy and fall guy ok made mistakes so does our star winger , all he needed was a decent chance to regain his confidence but been heckeld every mistake does not help , bit like fox his confidence is shattered when the coach makes it plain he is not flavour of the month , if most can remember moa dropped a ball near the line on sky tv months ago and you could see agar shout get him off having just gone on . what im saying is the coach should of stuck by him and improved him .
