Seriously though, Long leaves end of 2011(although I have a sneaky feeling he'll get an extension) We have 3 top earners OOC and Lauaki. We don't have a 7 ready yet in the reserves(Williams is at least 3 or 4 years off IMO). That's a shed load of cash, a couple of quota spots and at least a year to sort it out.
When you think that we don't need to replace Berrigan(Houghton) and probably not Fitz either(Washy/Westerman?) We should be able to get a top drawer 7 from Oz.

Me too, if they come off of course as has proved with Fielden and LMS you don't always get what you want.
For me this season was never going to be about huge recruitment. Promote a few youngsters and bring in some solid SL players like Sharp and hopefully get more games from SL and RH.
Next year will be a big year with all the quota spots potentially being free although I think Ogre and Lauaki will stay plus SL likely to retire. I'd expect a prop and halfback from the NRL next year and a big signing from SL. |

Yeah, David Mills - I'll admit I was a bit taken aback when I heard that one. I know you need a prop, he was captain of Wales just a couple of years ago and he certainly has the size, but tbh I think you'd be better off trying to keep Dowes. Probably won't be on a big wedge at least.

Would like to see a player in the mould of Isaac Luke,
to replace Berrigan, would bring a different dimension ,and can play 7 too. |

I hope we get a few more years from SL - keep him relatively injury free and bringing on our youngsters and recruitment of young half-backs. |
