Would people really pick Stark over Crooks?

It has to be Crooks on the wing, no other sensible option.

Winger is a specialist position nowadays, think I'd rather go with colbon, preferably with Crooks as his centre.

Lets not fall back into Agar's habit of playing people out of position. That means Crooks in the centres and Colbon on the wing. Colbon won't set the world alight but he's an experienced SL winger who is good defensively and carries the ball out well.

If I was honest, I'd say Colbon would be a better defender than Crooks and I daresay not as prone to jump out into no-mans land (Copyright Stevo 1998-2014) as Lineham does.

While Crooks isn't a winger, he has played on the wing a few times, playing Colborn who has only played one first team game (In the championship) in 6 months were he didn't stand out, in fact looked unfit and low on confidence isnt the solution IMO.

Crooks is still our best attacking player IMO and needs to get playing, this wont be doing his confidence any good.

With Lineham out of the team we have lost a lot of pace in the threequarters so Crooks must play, but he should play in his specialist position of centre (in place of Whiting) with Colbon on the wing.

Not a big fan of moving players, but sometimes it has to be done and it worked this week moving Heremia and Whiting.

I would play Colborn if he had more than 1 game in the last 7 months, doesn't the fact that he looked average playing in a lower league worry people?

I understand yours concerns But thinking about it I would have less bringing Colbon straight in on the wing and Crooks in the centre than Crooks on the wing and Whiting or Arundel playing centre.

Rather give Stark a go in all honesty. Yeah he's small but he had a very good pre season. Took high balls well and ran with 100% commitment. Certainly likes to get stuck in.
Doubt many will agree like but give him ago instead of Colbon.

I thought Stark looked Ok, did well considering is size, but didn't stand out IMO.

To be fair I don't think the Bradford game was one where you could judge if moving players around worked. Whiting got done on his outside by Purtell which is a worry.
Against a team in form we need to be 100% sure that players are playing to the best of their abilities, in my opinion playing a winger on the wing and a centre at centre gives us a better chance of that happening than a centre on the wing and a 2nd rower at centre.

I totally agree, i have stated that I dont think Whiting and Heremia are the best people to play the positions they did last week.

I would happily put a winger on the wing, if we had a fit winger that I feel was capable of doing a job against Cas, but at this time I am not confident Colborn is that man.

I really hope that if he selected I am wrong and he goes on to have a stormer and score a couple of trys, but just think we would be better with Crooks on the wing for this game, Cas will be very concerned about him after he scored 4 trys there last year.

So when there aren't 12,000 there what will the reason be? Cas fans didn't want to se the mighty FC? Or people from Hull hard up as they want to to the FA Cup semi-final?

The consensus of those that saw Colborn at the weekend seems to be that he wasn't match fit. Now the best way to get match fit is obviously to play matches but it was also said that he didn't look confident. For that reason I think he maybe needs another game under his belt with Donny before we consider him for selection. Make no mistake, this will be a tough game against a very good looking Cas side and playing a player with low confidence in this kind of match might be a bit of risk.

But as someone else has said if he plays I hope he has a stormer, proving my doubts and anyone else's wrong.

Lee Crooks said Ben knows the reasons for his drop out of the squad. I'd say to put him in a week later isn't addressing the reasons at all, more like using him as a stop-gap. We have plenty of cover there with Arundel, Colbon and Stark. Arundel/Colbon would be my choice.

If Ben knows why he was dropped then he knows what he knows what he needs to improve on in his game. Let him play & see if he's learnt

We will be looking at closer to 10,000 anyway. There were about 6,500 cas fans against Wigan so say that goes up to 7000ish and you guys bring 3000. 10,000 will be a very good crowd for us. You always travel in numbers that's why it's always one of best home games of season to go to.

In less than a week? Can you coach that into someone in a few hours of training? Far better to give another the chance. Like it or not, he's still young, inexperienced and raw. Still prone to mistakes and the last thing you want is to kill his confidence if he's making errors.

Colbon may not have the speed, but in a game against an unbeaten team, he's invaluable. Thats why he was signed.

Beating Cas would be a yardstick and I know how implausible that would have sounded 12 months ago.

Last year's game was a crowd of 9 thousand Hull had at least half that day so 3k would be very conservative. Personally I'm off for 1st away game, other 3 in my car same. Meeting up with other pals who are making their 1st away day too! Think there's gonna be a big following!
