Yes on the surface they may have kept within the rules, but I recon Person proceeded with the case hoping to at least expose the underhanded way it was done by the Hetherington’s, Agar and Rule.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if that drop in the offer to Briscoe’s contract, was deliberately engineered by the previous board in collusion with GH, as a means to poach him away from the club.

I'm guessing it is the assumption that Leeds were somehow untoward or underhand about the signing of Briscoe. Whether he expected a "fair" result or not, by taking it this far he challenged Hetherington in a domain that he is pretty faultless in and in turn questioned his honour (sorry, went all kung-fu movie there for a second...)

Pearson knew he couldn't win at the tribunal so he's obviously done it to start raising his concerns about how the game is run and how a small number of people have undue influence on policy. Good on him. For too long, the game has been run by an inept bunch of w@nkers who couldn't organise a p1ss up in a brewery. Regardless of the result of the tribunal the fact it took 6 months to establish something that should have taken 5 minutes shows just how inept the RFL are. If the only evidence required is the offer from Hull how on earth has it taken 6 months? AP is at least correct that the governing body are a complete shambles.

The fact that it took 6 months suggests that there was more to the case than a simple transfer. AP admits as much in his statement that he knew they were on a sticky wicket, so I imagine he continued in the hope of bringing any untoward ralationships to light. The fact that this didn't happen does not excuse his hissy-fit

I don't think that there will be much. The game of RL, especially at SL level, is too dependent upon financial backers at clubs. The RFL cannot afford to do anything that could push these owners away.

Certainly could have worded his response better. Although the speed at which it appeared suggests something penned in advance in expectation of the result rather than something written in anger.

Not sure what to think TBH. I'm all for the RFL being challenged for it's shortcomings but I'm not convinced that a full-on public confrontation will achieve the desired result. That said, it may be that he has explored other avenues and decided that this is the only approach open. Could be some interesting times ahead.
