hence us having a assistant in charge who looks like taking us backwards and them, who have got a top coach.....

We have replaced a winger and replaced a full back. We require COVER for halves. We already HAVE halves. Yes, cover is required, but to say we're a laughing stock because we haven't signed cover is beyond me.

Agree, and I think the club should have got rid, or not offered an extension when they did. Fair play to them though, they're backing him in every way possible and learn't from previous coach sackings (Kear and Sharp).

If FC overspent and won everything (Like Melbourne) and got caught and stripped of everything. Noone would be happy and we'd have people like you coming on criticising the club because of bad management. They can't win.

They are sorting the problems of before out and that takes time!!

I think a key word you need to add to that statement is FIT, we do indeed have h/backs sadly they never spent much time on the pitch last season and we are going into this season without one of them. Last year the cover would have got more game time than the Horney and Longy

Lowes was a assistant and was taking them backwards with the likes of King,Morley,Monaghan....they stood him down and got Smith....when smith took over they was getting batterd and Quins stuck 50 on them with Smith there...they wasnt in play-offs but won the cup....Smith hasnt alterd that team...this season he has his own players but are still over reliant on Briers.

thing is, in 2005 we won the cup and have steadily gone backwards ever since, for one reason or another..maily down to bad management.....
wire won the cup, invested and won it again, and then invested again and are now one of the favourites for the title whilst we keep asking why were no-where near the top...it is a simple equation, we will not spend big on the big plyers that will make a differance to our team......we need quality, and until that changes then we will be consitantly overtaken by other clubs such as wire, and hudds....and even kr!!

And what does it matter if it is? I'll still be there every week to enjoy some rugby and I'll still be looking forward all week to the next game. As much as I want this club to be successful I don't go to games so that I can gloat about how many trophies we won I go because I love the game and I love the club. And if we are rock bottom at the end of the season I will still be straight out to buy my pass for 2012.

I wouldn't mind but our club isn't in even a remotely bad state. Off field you could make an arguement that we are the best of the lot and on field we are quite comfortably a playoff side. Look at the fans of Dewsbury for example, they'll never get in to Superleague in their lifetimes yet they go week in week out regardless, hell the Blackpool fans don't even have a club anymore. Tbh the OP just sounds like a whining, pathetic rant.

We seem to have very similar opinions but let's not jump the gun !!

The thing that gets to me is we are all supposed to be supporters. I am not saying everything in the garden is rosy,buts its not a wasteland either.
The forum is about opinions,and opposite ones are always going to be par for the course.There are some on here who can`t seem to bring themselves to say anything positive about the club,being underwhelmed with players,training,coach,assistant coach,board,and facilities.
Speaking solely for myself,I think there are areas for improvement,but we are not the only club in this position.I like the look of the squad that is with us at the moment,and no doubt there will be additions.
I look forward to the matches,even if sometimes I feel let down after, I am still ready for the next one.

Sorry for the rant ,but I am getting fed up with some trying to put the boot into our club all the time.Lets leave that to the types like Cab Man.

As i've highlighted for you, my name comes from when i joined this forum, does that really matter to when i started supporting FC??
When are you going to start, as from where i'm sitting you sound more like a bitter Rovers fan!!

I also believe we will win on Sunday, on paper our squad is great imo, however my fear is we do not have cover for pivotal postitions. I love going every week and support my team through thick and thin, I loved last season, however the two before that I often sat in the stadium thinking what the heck am I doing here, but like mentioned every-thing improved last season, the most apparent area of improvement for this year was making sure we have h/back cover and as yet we have failed to do so.

To me Hull FC is a club that is run as a business and nothing else. Getting rid of players means only one thing to the people at the top and thats more profit. We are a club that reacts to bad situations instead of being proactive. We all knew Berrigan was going months ago yet the club did nothing and still havent to bring in cover and the same goes for half back cover. Phelps has been available for months with most of us seeing that he could do a job but instead the club and coach have gone after an already contracted player in Sammutt whos even said on twitter that he wants to return to the NRL in a season anyway and his club have denied all overtures to sell him but still we pursisted. Now with three days to go till the start of the season were basically screwed as there was no one available so we sign Phelps and now possibly have to wait three months for his visa. Weve got an aging team with Long and Fitz probably in their last season and were gonna have to recruit for 2012 but after thus off season were just ablout every player and his dog has rejected us i have no faith that this wont change next off season. Something is seriously wrong with the whole ethos of the club with priorities all wrong and people who are not good enough or experienced enough in most of the key positions ie chairman, coach, assistant coach. We are a club with no direction or future stratagy preferring to buy square pegs for round holes and i for one cannot see that ever changing whilst our current board are at the helm and we are sadly well behind teams such as Leeds, Wigan, Warrington, Saints and even Huddersfield and Hull KR. As the Brother put it so well, Hull FC is a shambles!
