Before you mock any further based on your obvious dislike of radders i think you should review the last few seasons reviews, you may just surprise yourself!!

Radford should be nowhere near the starting 13 next year. Or even on the bench for that matter.

The thing i dislike is your constant preaching of the virtues of Radford and how great he is.

Hardly constant preaching. I just see the value as a grafter he brings to the side, and i see the value as a 2nd row he has brought to our side and Bradford previously. He is regarded by his peers as one of the better professionals they have played with. I just dont see why based on people not rating him as a captain and him being used as a 3rd prop by Agar why people continue to give the guy a hard time. If every player played for FC like Radders has this season from an effort point of view we would be nowhere near the low place that we are in the league thats for sure.

And he gets away some cracking off loads, a player with a suprising amount of skill in this area of the game

As I and THF have said before, he just doesn't bring any value. You haven't mentioned 'the little things' yet on this thread, but that is the usual catch-all phrase used to justify Radford's selection and I'm guessing those 'little things' are what you are referring to with the above comment. The problem with Radford is that it is these 'little things' that he doesn't do well and that's why he's nowhere near as good as, for example, Cusack.



Because they usually aren't very good. Again, I've been through this before and picked out specific examples, but the quality of his offloads is generally poor. They are usually either thrown before he's engaged the defenders properly, negating a large part of the benefit of an offload, or they're thrown blindly, again not a good technique.

As a prop he's effective enough in 'What he does best' he bottles up the middle in defence, is tight around the ruck in defence a makes hard yards.

Rarely. Radford runs to the line, and then turns his back, thus negating his chance of making good yards. However, when he doesnt do this and runs forward he can make yards, but like i said, all too rarely

Used to do that all the time at Bradford, but there he had support so was able to offload on a regular basis.

To carry the debate on the twist in the tackle allows the offload and comes naturally from him being a backrower. If we are to use him as an out and out prop then he does need to work on this aspect.

Im not going to bore people with stats but ive just had a scan on superleague.co.uk for my own satisfaction and he is no worse than Cusack or Dowes, neither of whom are slated like Radders is. Why does Radders get the stick? My theory is because he is the captain and we have had a woeful 2 years, neither of which are valid reasons imo.

So therefore you either bollock the players not supporting him, or, if we dont adopt the "offload" tactic, which we clearly dont - he should adapt his style to maximise the yardage he makes. When you turn your back in the tackle, you almost, 100% never land on your front for a quick play the ball, our major problem this season

But not just radford's problem hence me defending him a lot. We only actually seem to have a handful of players that do get a quick play the ball.

Moa and cusack are the only ones i can think of, and tickle at times.

Thats one of the reasons i don't subscribe to the theory of him being a prop. Prop is not as easy a position to play as many think, even more so when you have to adapt your style to suit the position rather than just play the role naturally.

Cusack absolutely and Moa occasionally mainly due to their size. Tickle i agree but only once per game when he runs the right line to not have 3 defenders on him. Cant honestly think of anyone else, maybe Raynor due to his footwork. Motu used to every ptb.
