kearney wouldn't come because, imo, hes waiting for a big nrl club. hes coaching at 2 places where hes learning off the best in the buisness.

i've no doubt he'd be great at hull fc though.

We aint strong, physical and aggressive and theres too many players at the club that feel sorry for themselves! He is the type of guy that could bring that!

I actually think a lot of coaches would jump at this job. Lets face it they would not have to be an overwhelming success to get the backing of the supporters. We have been treated to dross rugby for a few years now, our expectations are low so it is an ideal job for any coach.

exactly, i think even David Lloyd, Garry Scohfield or Paul Cooke could be appointed coach and we'd at least be happy to see the back of Agar!



personally I think Noble is the only obviously available quality coach we can aim for, I also woulden't be surprised if he walked out on Wigan early after the way they've been fishing around for a new coach behind his back.

I'm not saying that he is a bad coach, not at all. But I would imagine coaching a club team is hell of harder than coaching and international team. We need to bring someone in who is proven and successful AND GET RID of Radders.

I don't like Noble, but given the choice he would get my vote over Agar.

The main thing is the players arent playing with no pride or passion! Agar needs to pull his finger out and take a few gambles. If i was a coach id drop players who are playing poor and pick some players from the youngesters from the reserves. Theres no relegation so why not! At least they would give it a good go. Id rather have a team that get beats trying with a bit of pride and passion rather then a team that gets beat and feels sorry for themselves!

Agar would rather loan out one of our main attacking players, bring in another teams youngster than use one of our own reserve players. What hope do they have?

exactly!!! no offense to Broughto but id rather get a local youngster from our own academy to have a go then loan someone out from one of our rivals. What kind of message does that send to the youngsters? If i was at Hull academy or reserves id think id never get a chance to pull on a black and white jersey for the 1st team!

Agar is simply not up to the standard of a SL coach, as predicted by many when he was hastily appointed about a week after Sharp's sacking.

He has a far worse record than the last two coaches who were both fired.

As much as I dont rate Agar some of those players should be ashamed of the way they "played" today.

These are grown men who have "ousted" several coaches over the last few years. What exactly do you think he can do when we have no credible option to replace them? I'll tell you what he can do, get rid of them and bring in new players to replace them when their contracts are up. Oh yeah did you notice next season is probably going to be our biggest in terms of player turnover since the merger? I'm not convinced Agar is the man for the job but to say he should somehow make the players play better by stopping their pocket money or grounding them is just stupid IMO.

Thing is, it's his job to get the maximum out of what he's got and to design a gameplan to do this and target the opposition's weaknesses. On the evidence on show today:
His motivational skills are non-existent. Heads went down after the early interception
The team are not playing as a team. There's no back-slapping after a knock-on, no one geeing the players up after a try.
Rangi Chase is the star of Cas's team. It's not rocket science to target him. Thought he'd rolled in dog turd before the game, so reluctant were our players to get anywhere near him.
To start with Whiting on the bench was stupid.
To play Tickle at all was also stupid. A broken wrist FFS - surely there's a risk of tendon damage if he makes it worse.
There is no gameplan other than to pass to either Berro (Plan A) or Manu (Plan B) and expect them to conjure up something from nothing. The problem is that Berro's brain works twice as fast as anyone else's and no one backs Manu up, so unless they score themselves we're fecked.

Apart from Phil Brown who basically performed a miracle by getting City off to a good start with his limited resources i can not think of any coach off the top of my head in any sport who would and has kept his/her job after 2 wins from 16 matches, boards of established clubs just don't tolerate win ratios like this whatever the reasons or sports involved.
Also unless you have just formed a new club like Celtic or Gateshead totally from scratch theres not been one SL coach who has had a team entirely made up from his own choices of players and has been able to call it 'his' team.
