Maybe everyone does not want to donate, maybe they have already donated in another way.
Fans are being forced to donate, which is wrong.

They should have either offered an opt out for the quid or just said tickets have gone up £1 and by the way there will be a donation made to Children in Need. If the club want to up the price off the tickets that is their option, but to decide that we will be forced to pay £1 extra and make out it is a donation is wrong - a donation is a voluntary gift, this £1 is not, you are forced to pay it or you won't get a ticket.

Doesn't say anything about being discounted for wakefield?

Your right it is easy money for the club to get in but they could have done that by making a £1 donation from the cost of the tickets, and it would have made the club look good, rather then adding £1 per ticket and making you pay for it.

Donations by title mean that its a choice to donate. They would be called a mandatory deduction and should be in this case if the choice was not made. Can people opt out of paying the £1 extra if they dont want to support the charity?

Your missing the point, see mine above too. Charitable contributions should always be down to personal preference.

I think it's great that all people have to moan about is a £1 donation. It means things are going well on the pitch
Keep up the moaning

| Surely the preference is whether to buy a ticket or not? You know that by buying a ticket, a pound of that will be given to charity.

Your not just buying a ticket though are you, youre being forced to donate to a charity too and some people dont want to do that. Donations should always be voluntary. If i needed to buy and FC ticket i would pay the £1 as i like to give to charity and do regularly out of my salary etc. If people want a ticket but dont prefer to give the donation who should be able to force them is the arguement. They cant opt out otherwise they wont be able to see the game.

| Time for this again
I don't mind paying the £1. However it's being forced on the fans and charitable donations should never be that way and therefore it is wrong of the club to do it.

They aren't being 'forced' to do anything. They're setting the price as being the game plus a donation, they've been upfront about this, that is the 'product' on offer. Like I said, if some fans don't agree with the price including a donation, then dont pay it - thats the preference, the choice they have
There are plenty of brands out there who are (or have in the past) been involved with charities and campaigns. They dont provide an alternative, 'non donation' version.

What if they want to go to the game without donating as they have already given money to this charity? They can't and that is wrong.

| If the club had said nothing up front and charged a quid more, we'd be slating them for profiteering! They have told the fans their intention, buy a ticket or don't buy a ticket. Buying a ticket means you are giving a quid to charity. Whilst I agree it's not the best way of going about it, it is hardly a massive issue is it

Tough. That's the price, and you know what you're paying for.
What if Aquafresh linked up with some charity, with afew pence of every tube sold being donated? 'Sorry kids, your teeth are going to be yellow for a couple of months, as I've already donated to them'. You'd keep buying it or spend your money on something else, thats the choice.

Either way it's wrong. I have paid it and I don't mind paying it but it's still wrong. People pay every week to watch the game and then for that week they have to pay extra as Hull FC decide the fans will be donating to charity.
It's wrong!

But then they mis out on the game which is the product. The donation is not and should never be part of a product. The club should allow people to opt out.

It's not!.
The fan will decide, make the choice, of whether to buy a ticket which includes a donation, or not to. I don't see the problem.
The product has differed slightly from the norm, and for a good cause.

Of course it is wrong, if I decide I don't want to make the donation the only way I can avoid it is by not going to the game.

Of course it's a choice, you can go or not go.
I'm sure if Hull FC charged the same price, but threw in a free FC window sticker or something, people would not be complaining. It'd still be a change from the product on offer, and the choice would be whether you paid to go to the game and get the free sticker, or not to go. As with the donation, you'd know exactly what you money was giving you, and a choice of whether to pay or not.
