So the basis of this Galea rumour is a HDM article which associates PG and Ben Galea due to working together years ago.

The major surprise is people getting sucked in by it all, a little like all of these rumour threads.

If Galea has signed for us then I'm disappointed it has come out like this. He should have let the club announce it first.
That said if he's signed as a squad player then fair enough and his salary should reflect that, if he's considered a staring 1st teamer then our recruitment hasn't gone according to what AP/SM were telling us - young British players.

Galea's a good player and has always seemed very professional, but he has a poor injury record.

For next season we already have Ellis, Westerman, Whiting, Pitts, for the back row, possibly Tickle, as well as Kent and Green who are the youngsters that can play there. We have also been rumoured to have signed either Whitehead or Bateman.

All in all, why would we be wanting to sign Galea? We already have 4 good backrowers. We already have 2 good youngsters wanting to impress. He has a poor injury record.

It just sounds like the Mail are guessing. Personally, I think that clubs such as Cas, Wakefield, and Widnes, would be the more likely destinations for him.

My guess is with Bradford surviving, Bateman has decided to stay and we've come up short. Hence Galea...

Only really this season. He played 109 times in the previous 4 seasons which isn't far off ever-present.



All I can imagine is that you've missed out on a prop (Amor to Saints I've heard) and Watts and Pitts who look like modern prop-type loose forwards to me will be needed as out and out props, with Galea offering an option at 13.
