I merely said the squad is not a shambles which it isn't. On the other thread I have already said we have maybe the 6th or 7th best squad. Mnay others are saying with a new coach we could challenge for the top four.

2/3 players and we have a competetive squad with the right coach.

I do not consider the squad a shambles tbh...we need a couple of big forwards signing and with a new coach I reckon we could indeed be up there.

hey just bought/renewed my season ticket for next year for £99 ... The £50 behind the goals ones were flying away like mad..... but its £100,000 up front from people who only go to the 'big matches' hull of course... ! theres talk of at least 7,500 season tickets minimum..... never had to queue to renew mine before..

Have to say I agree with Paul M in that the squad is not a complete shambles, unbalanced maybe which is something we have seen since McRae left, he was the last one that had a well balanced squad.

Even with the squad we have with a quality Coach I honestly believe we can get into the top 4, Think Wigan & Wire are unreachable in the short term but think Saints (at a push), Huddersfield & Leeds are teams we can geniunely compete with for 3rd/4th spot.

But with Agar as Coach we will yet again be scrapping to make 8th if were lucky.

IMO we need 2 props (1 of which may be Dowes), 1 backrower (possibly Lauaki), and 1 centre (if Gleeson doesn't come back). As Paul says, the squad has areas to improve but is not a shambles. Only 1 position is overstocked (hooker), so as long as we bring in in the areas mentioned the balance isn't too bad. The only potential problem is whether or not we can find enough British players for what we need all at once.

As a 5th choice prop. There aren't enough British props available to do any better IMO, and I don't know how ready our young props are as Agar doesn't let us see what they can do.

I've always maintained that 1 of them is a good player to have in the 17. So long as it's only both when we have injuries I don't see a problem.

Great player but I think he's made the right move. I wish the club was as sensible as him and stopped looking to recruit players that are past their best in the NRL.

lets be honest, all this talk of one or two players needed to make us into a top team is utter tosh....
in my opinion we need a massive overhaul if were going to be challenging let alone winning anything

1. mckinnon...injury prone, dury is out
2. sharp/lynne- not good enough simples
3. gleeson- heads gone, cant see him playing for fc again
4.yeaman...great centre, could pass a little more tho
5. briscoe - looks a worldbeater, should go to nrl
6. horne- finished, how he got a 2 year deal is beyond me
7. seymour- good player with alot of baggage, dury's out
8. dowes- get rid, plodder
9. houghton- good player will be better in the near future
10. o'meley- best prop weve got maybe in the league aswell
11. luaki/radford - hot head too inconsistant, and plodder past his best
12. fitz...retire please, whilst weve still got the memories.
13 - washbrook. get rid, hasnt improved since his debut season
14. westerman - class act....
15. obst...keep, worthy of a cover spot
15. heremaia- durys out after failing to impress at leigh,halifax and widnes..
16. whiting - great brain, too slow, cover for injuries.
17. manu.- best second rower in the league on his day..
18. tickle- consistant as they get, great kicker

other than that there isn't a single thing wrong with your post, too many sentimentalists (and just mentalists) that think we're a top 4 side on paper, no matter who is coach.
