Chase and holdsworth are in the bag, so I got told last night from someone who is in the know.

The major problem this person went on to talk about was cap space. With Ellis, Chase, Holdsworth, Lynch, Yeaman and Briscoe at the club on a decent wack it doesn't leave that much to spread around the rest of the squad.

To be fair, this entire series of threads on rumours has, at times, had little to do with Hull FC. It is punctuated with some just throwing any name of a player who maybe leaving his current club.

But atleast it's rugby, not Wayne Rooney!
Anyways, I can't see us signing Bateman and aren't sure if we'll see Taylor at Hull either but we may do.

Didn't realise that, I would sign him as a FB as well. By all accounts McDonnell is done though.

To be honest I don't see that slowly announcing through the week would increase season pass sales as many will still wait until all players are announced before finally deciding to part with their hard earned cash.

I think one big announcement would be a far better way to sell the passes and keeping up the momemtum rather than dribble out the info.

Some very big earners leaving though, in O Meley, Manu, Seymour and Mckinnon.

Also players like Turner, Moa and Sharp will be on good money.

Tickle will also be on big money also if he leaves.

Didnt say it did but the way Hull seem to be signing everything that comes on the market just thought this would be of interest. Indeed it does seem more credible than some of the tosh spoke about on here.

Kite won't be coming, his wife has just bought a business back home. Think we have a British prop and a NZ one.

I hope the Russell Packer rumour is true, very good young prop.

Maybe your first signing should be Warrington's Accountant so you can get them all in under the cap!

Isn't the normal convention about announcements that they are made when the incoming player has finished his commitments at his current Club? I suppose it depends whether the player and or the host club are bothered, but there is still one weekly round to go after this weekend.

Will be interesting to see how Seymour departs. He is contracted for at least next season. How would a severance payment work from a salary cap point of view?

Personally I don't think Tickle will leave. I have no basis for this though, just gut feeling.

It wouldn't, we'd need to sort it asap to get his space for next years cap.

We are 6th, most of the other clubs are below us.



Anyway, the players that we are linked to are all the cream of the lower clubs, I along with most others on here are happy with that!!

True, but signings for your club, wont be coming from below your position in the table.

It would be a struggle to attract players from bigger clubs without opening the cheque book to much (ala Kevin Brown) to entice them to move.

When Man city became cash rich they went and cherry picked the best players from teams around and below them in the league who wanted to better them selves and no doubt earn more (bit of a difference between football and rugby wages but admittedly they will earn more cash).

The likes of Lescott (everton), Barry (Villa), Milner (Villa/Toon) were signed which in turn weakening the teams below them and improved their team and chances of winning stuff. Similar to Hull Fc at the minute imo we have targeted players like Chase, Holdsworth from teams below us who will hopefully improve us further then where we are now.

Having the correct mixture of youngsters and experience coupled with good ethic, culture and believes as a team will hopefully hold us in good stead for the future and potentially deliver silverware.

So.... Crabtree then??
