Was a bad injury but not a one off , last season broke his cheekbone just not sure how much more his body can take , if he played half the games next year I would be surprised |

It's hardly a freak injury though is it... do you know what one is? An unusal and uncommon injury. Torn hamstring is certainly not one of those.  . If you are an 'EXPRO' you must definitely be a prop  |

However a broken cheekbone, elbow dislocation and torn hamstring can hardly be considered as normal practice for all players to recieve in 1 year huh?? which was what my point was...
he will come back after almost a full season on the sidelines fit strong and with all minor niggles healed and will be like having a new player

Sorry but I disagree. As the body ages there are changes to muscle tissue leading to a reduction in muscle strength. This combined with age related denervation of muscle fibres increase the risk of hamstring injury due to the workload placed on the hamstrings muscle.
Long is totally injury prone, the last 3 years are proof of that and he isn't going to miraculously recover next year. I would be very surprised if Agar wasn't lining up half back cover for next season particularly with Horne looking like he's having major injury problems too.
Maybe Thackeray might still be on the radar despite the denial?? |

Them kind of injuries are not niggles they are big injuries that will take a toll |

Your squad has done okay. More than okay, in fact. The only major issue that'd concern me is the lack of natural cover for hbs that have had some injury problems. The SL market is pretty bare and you don't have a free quota spot. Not every year will be a 'Long-Fitzgibbon-O'Meley' headline grabber. We've had a couple of modest recruitments since the big one for 2008. Quiet consolidation and getting more decisions right than wrong year on year is, along with producing talented youngsters, the path to the top, I reckon. Or signing Willie Mason - one of the two.

I agree. Half back cover must be number one priority for next season. |
