Agreed, his signing could COULD have been the catalyst to kick start a golden era of FC in SL however i do think that AP, PG and bomber will have done their homework and there will be numerous targets to announce that will light up the board again ... very sure of that .
Lets face it AP is a classy businessman and he knows all too well that to fill empty seats he has to cuddle the fans and as such he will be looking to deflect the Rangi business and move peoples attention to someone else ... absolutely convinced of that .
A long winter and tons of time before pre season starts so lets be patient and put trust in the team who brought us Gareth Ellis eh!!! they will be looking and at some point PG will be going back to Oz soon to see family etc and its then the conversations will be held ... convinced of that

Also unless i have missed it no where have FC actually confirmed themselves in writing / print on their site they have binned chasing Rangi have they so lets wait to see what happens still

Only 28 days until the discounted season pass period ends, so although "tons of time" left before the season starts signings after 31st October may not do much to boost pass sales which stand at less than 3,300 at the present time, unless the discount period is extended due to planned targets being no longer in the bag.

Partly true, also seeing as you have until the 27th Oct to renew a pass a lot of people will wait until nearer the deadline as the money is better off in your own bank than the clubs.

I'm surprised by that. I thought the marketing strategy Hull FC had was very clever and innovative. It incentivised early purchases, to earn a place in as many prize draws as possible. Obviously people have to work around pay-day, but the end of the discount period still seems to be the main focus.
KuH folk aren't the easiest bunch to market to - sceptical to the point of cynicism in some cases. And a 1 in 1000, then 1 in 2000 etc chance perhaps isn't as big a motivator as it'd seem even with some desirable prizes on offer. Times are tough and, while last month's pay day and the last minuter renewals will obviously boost that figure considerably, reaching 10k looks like a big ask at the moment. An extension to the end of November [umight[/u be a good idea (the announcement delayed until later this month, of course).
A concern for all clubs, if fans start to prefer pay as you go and then go less often.

I dont thinks its very poor.
When you consider it took nearly 2 months to sell just under 5k last year we are at on course to at least match that.

also bear in mind that the season has only just ended and the discount period ends at the end of the month too.
